Considering the utter mess the tejas program is, I agree with you.

Tejas is short legged. Russians don't believe and operate short legged fighters else they would have built one already.

Oddly all Russian fighters operated by India prior to the Su-30 had short leg issues. Even the Mig-29 needed fuel tanks with the UPG.
