I think you do know the change in ancient history by elite class of Bhrahmins. Hinduism doesn't ask for bribe for god, it was totally a different concept. Yagyas, vrat, etc. are and were based on ancient science rather than superstitions. You have completely misunderstood the central concept of Hinduism.

There are many Hindu scholars who has explained how are our vedas and upanishads' knowledge was used by Bhrahmins for their benefits as only they can read and understand these literature and people believed in them especially the ruling class of Khastriyas.
