India Can Get into NSG, No Problem, but by Endorsing Pak’s Bid

There is no "never" or "forever" in international geopolitics. Modi once could not get a US visa and look at him now. If Pakistan does not get into NSG now, the issue can be revisited at a later time when things change sufficiently to make it possible.

there is no doubt about the changing geopolitical scenario , anything can happen but past records can not be altered or changed no matter how you present your case. optimism is good but exaggeration leads to downfall.

Past record cannot be changed, but it can be overcome. There is a difference.

Pakistan will never get membership because of its proliferation record.

If India's membership depends on Pakistan's entry then no way will either country get in.

However, how long China and Pakistan can keep insisting on the this linkage is debatable. Especially if India becomes ever closer to the US.

NSG was formed after indian proliferation.. Not Pakistan.. AQ didnt back stab canada, it was india..

The thread title is pretty confusion especially owing to the fact that India wants to be an NSG member to fulfill her own aspirations and not to compete with any other country, not atleast with Pakistan. I do not know why the Pakistanis seem to be dragging along themselves so rigorously. Is this in tune in with the statement by their foreign min that their foreign policy is India centric ?? Someone has even said that as long as China is there India will never be given a membershio. This is strange and laughable on many levels especially since it implies that Pakistan's frustration has more to do with India becoming an NSG member rather than they not becoming one. Where was all this hullabaloo about NSG membership from Pak's end before India's bid?? They seem to have woken up suddenly to India's application!!! Once again this goes on to show either the sorry state of affairs of their foreign policy or their avid India cetric and India obsessed mindset.

but international geopolitics slightly differ from your point of view . if this is the case then china ( an emerging economic power) should have been the member of MTCR .

China might join the MTCR in the future if it serves its national interests at that time.

well their application for membership was rejected. and its not about their national interest but their week records against proliferating nuclear technology causing hindrance to get the membership of MTCR ( if i am not mistaken).. and sorry to tag you again n again.. Thanks

It is only because China chose to support North Korea over MTCR membership in order to serve its national interests better.

Look up the word proliferation. NSG was NOT formed after Indian proliferation. You can't just make up your own facts.

smilling buddha was start of nuclearization of south asia.. You force us to get our hand dirty.. You are the one who bought nuclear weapon in south asia...

The NSG was founded in response to the Indian nuclear test in May 1974 and first met in November 1975. The test demonstrated that
certain non-weapons specific nuclear
technology could be readily turned to weapons
development. Nations already signatories of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) saw the need to further limit the export of nuclear
equipment, materials or technology. Another
benefit was that non-NPT and non-Zangger Committee nations, then specifically France, could be brought in.

I don't want to say it again, China has expanded its sanctions on North Korea, and the Chinese people are becoming more and more hated by the North Koreans.
