Well, he is the top guy at the moment.

Soon to be replaced in 2012 with Xi Jinping and Li Keqiang.

People are already cursing Xi Jingping and he is not even the President of China yet. :P Mostly to do with him being a part of the Taizidang.

indians are extremely competitive..So for individual business in US, UK wo thinks of cost optminsation they will obviously think of outsourcing.. Why should they be ashamed ? They hare answerable to their share holders..
That is why the US/UK politicians coin words like Bangalored for outsourcing.. Do you know why ? Because they have failed to provide jobs to their people.. they need an escape route.. India is their blame word.. they are after all .....politicians !!!!

Cost cutting does not equal competitiveness..if I do a Job x for y amount of money and a second party is able to do job x for z amount of money..he is not being competitive but cost-effective. Need to correct your understanding of economic terms.

Go start fixing them or ask your dictators to fix them(ohh you can do that right, you don't have the rights), we are fixing ours and don't flutter here about chinese supermacy ... we know its a ballon filled with hot air.
And you are fixing yours really well with democracy..the day i see desperate indians stop flooding in middle east to work at 1/3rd wages and kiss some incompetent sheikh bottoms to create employment for their releatives..then will be the day I will believe India is moving in some direction..right now the number of desperate job seeks escaping India only seem to increase day by day!

US: 22
China: 78
India: 87

now its the clear picture right...lesson to be learnt post the clear picture of your self too.

Why a comparision with US is concerned here..Does India = USA?? Perhaps why are once again vtying for colonialisation by new master..when in Asia behave like an Asian..let us compare with Russia, India, China, Pakistan.

13 - Hong Kong :azn:

Our corruption was quite bad a while back, but after the ICAC started clamping down then we did really well. And we will of course lend this expertise to the other cities in China.

. .
Calm down Chinese members.Don't be so petty(doesn't suit your country's status as a world leader in exports)and let India have this moment of glory.

Yes and we Indian commend that job done by ICAC and some strict and willing politicians..and are looking for some relief in the form of Jan Lokpal bill (public ombudsman bill) which might get some relief to us from it.

.
Is that really worth mentioning in the light of that China beat US and became the top trading partner of the whole Africa.

well actually indians are more concerned with china only & we all know that china is in competition with US cuz they both are comparable....

Topic: wow what a big acheivment:D
congragulations to indians...:)

Wrong.

Here, from the Economist:

The Economist - Comparing India and China: Chasing the dragon

Why am I not surprised? You again resort to a straw man argument. Was I talking about social indicators or economy? Economically, India is only 9 years behind China. You can give me any straight argument against it.

Hehe. Hong kong does not represent entire China. Thank your British High lords for its better indexes. If you are sticking to your argument, I can quote Kerala in India for better corruption, social indicators separately and say India is doing great.

India is underdog and never underestimate an underdog Chinese brothers. May healthy competition will bring good for both of us.

.
And regarding the GDP numbers:

List of countries by past and future GDP (nominal) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Numbers originally sourced from the IMF World economic outlook database).

China GDP to India GDP ratio in 1990 - 1 : 1
China GDP to India GDP ratio in 2000 - 2 : 1
China GDP to India GDP ratio in 2010 - 4 : 1

The gap is in fact widening every day, India is not catching up at all, but rather falling behind.

Which is clearly logical, considering that China has both a far larger economy AND has had double-digit growth rates for several decades now, while India was never able to sustain double-digit growth in the first place.

Well that's because you are comparing your 'achieved' growth to India's 'yet to achieve' growth. When China in 2003 had statistics comparable to India's today. All India has to do is grow at the same rate as China did in the next ten years to be in the exact same shoes as you are now. How difficult is it to understand this? Beyond 2020, India is expected to grow faster than China, so that could cover up the difference. It doesn't take a genius to understand this.
