India sent 45 members of the Garud commandos, a special unit in the Indian Air Force, to Israel for the first time Tuesday to take part in a two-week multilayer air exercise.
According to Times of India, the military exercise is named “Blue Flag” and is a biannual exercise designed to strengthen India’s military cooperation internationally. India has previously participated in the exercise with the US, France, Germany, Italy, Greece and Poland.

"Exercise Blue Flag gives us the opportunity to share and learn [the] best practices with some of the best professionals from other air forces," said an Indian officer.
The training exercise with the Israeli Air Force comes after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Jewish State in July.
