India Accepts Pakistan Air Force is a Leading Force

Too much chest thumping on both sides....Both nations' pilots are world class....and especially in today's scenario, Machine part of Man-Machine interface is taking leading role.

Having said that, both nations' invest heavily on or pilots' training, and their capabilities can't be matched unless they fight against each other.

Better to discuss what we lack in which field..

depends..if our purpose is served by being inside our borders then why cross them.
We care more for our economy and growth and so choose to put one more decade to increase the current gap between India and Pakistan manifold.

Which country stations almost her entire active military at the border for almost a year and then backs off unilaterally without advancing an inch beyond the LoC? Unless that country's military remembers something from the past and does not dare any action despite investing all her resources on a war path and not moving an inch despite further calls of 'surgical strikes' inside Pakistan!

Your military most likely refused civilian government's orders to initiate a war or to atleast carry out surgical strikes as otherwise they ended up being the laughing stock of the world for tall claims and no actions.

In the first bold sentence above you say that Indian military remembered the past and hence did not dare any action.

In the second bold sentence you say that civilian leadership refused permission to the military to carry out strike.

Make up your head on what you want to say

Wow, Shiv Aroor and Durga Nandini's writings in Headlines Today has been taken seriously across the border. But it was'nt even meant for this Raja Dude.
It was meant for the Mandarins in North Block to scare them into unshackling their brains and loosening their purse-strings for the IAF's acquisition plans.
Shiv Aroor bowled a googly this time; or was it a doosra?

right

such writings have only one aim> trying to pressurize MOD and MOF

if some members don't believe this, remember IAF MIG 21s being praised by USAF

It may not have advancing an inch beyond LoC( which was not probably the intent to begin with), but for the 1st time in the history of the subcontinent, it made a Pakistani dictator admit that they have been sending insurgents across the LoC and pledged :-)lol:) to stop doing that..

In last decade, the induction of latest aircraft by PAF has completed the requirements of fighting a modern concept of net centric war, in future. All these modern aircraft and allied air defence systems acquired by PAF are now fully integrated in a net centric environment, ready to deliver a decisive blow to the enemy in any future encounter.
Is that why the PAF were literally caught with their pants down when the Yanks came wafting in deep inside Pakistani territory, did the Tango at Osama's hideout for more than an hour and went cavorting back without even batting an eye, cocking a snook at the much vaunted PAF?

So whatever happened to the so called doctrine of 'fighting with the modern concept of net centric war'? What's the point of all the jargon when you guys can't defend yourselves against the frequent sashaying into your territory by American choppers and drones with such impunity? Big words look dandy on paper.

And then..

Now most PAF aircraft are nuclear capable and all can be refueled in mid-air. This is a punch that’s hard to match in any given theatre. What PAF lacked in deep penetration aircraft has more than made up with mid air refueling and latest F-16 Block 52 aircraft, which has a long range

That's a bunch of baloney! I wonder where the PAFs aircraft would be refueled in mid air? Over Amritsar? Over New Delhi? Pakistan has little or no strategic depth and therefore the need to refuel well within their own territory doesn't make sense. Except for aircraft on Combat Air Patrol (CAP). Unless, of course, the PAF wants to send their fighters to far away Israel where they would need to be refueled in mid air.

Get someone to read and explain my post......especially the second bold sentence!

The US military most probably could have done that to any country of the world, their stealth technology is beyond compare. The could most likely have done that to Russia/China as well. Besides, they have almost the whole world supporting their action diplomatically. And most importantly, it is highly unlikely that Pakistani Military was not aware of that action. There is an ongoing debate on whether Pakistani Military was aware of the operation or not and we should wait for the OBL commissions report.

Mid-air refueling would probably be used to give extra loiter time to PAF on CAP missions defending our airspace. For long range offensive actions, we would most likely use our CM/BM capability which are quite accurate.

If you want to keep believing paf pilots as the best..its your wish. Nothing more to say on the topic.

By Raja G Mujtaba

“The Pakistan Air Force is stronger than ever. Since the last Indo-Pak air war of 1971, the Pakistan Air Force has with steely determination built up numbers, lethal capabilities and a combat force now counted as one of the most disciplined and well-trained air forces in the world. Headlines Today has a disturbing proof that all this has made India worried.” India Today 20th April 2011

Three things worry India and the PAF and PA don't figure in them.

1. Nukes.
2. China's support to Pakistan.
3. Radicalization or Talibanization of Pakistani state.

STOP infiltration , stop dams construction , cutting pakistans , water this and this ,and that

HOLD PLEBISCITE In JAMMU AND KHASMIR tha disputed territory every thing will go away

huge statement above

Until the day I SEE a world class fighter threat from PAF ,, in large nos, a REALLY large GDP and budget to match , and traning with what i perceive to be TOP air forces ie USA ISRAEL & NATO on a annual basis.

I shall RESERVE JUDGEMENT ON your claim...

no offense JUST reality im afraid

peace

I think the facts n the ground prove that Indian pilots are by far the superior ones.

And on what ground were those facts proven. When was the last time an IAF pilot was involved in air combat and shot down an enemy aircraft or carried out any other hot mission like a ground strike while facing anti-aircraft fire. ??
Please don't drag any exercise into this since boards don't hit back. !!
