His ancestors had just taken the power to rule the people by brute force and cunningness, because they could. And in Patel they met a person willing to use even more force and cunningness. It was a fair fight.
Having a hostile enemy in the middle of your territory is extremely dangerous. That would have led to endless quarrels and wars. These wars would have neither helped the people of Hyderabad nor the people of other parts of India.
Plus Gandhi although did lot of great work, stupidly divided a country because some muslims couldn't get along hindus. They never realised what would happen later, thanks to patel we dont have to face this thing in hyderabad.

Any random mullah quoting quoran, can brainwash even the most rational muslim. Most people argue its because US, muslims from middle east became terrorist, well in that case vietnamese too should have become terrorist or Cuba or chinese after all the atrocities they faced from Japanese. But southasian ppl never did, instead they contributed in rebuilding their country, unlike muslims in ME whose aggresive nature made their own country hell. This is why no country should help or come to help a muslim country, it will only create more chaos and give rise to more extremist breeds. A war will only affect India since its going to take on china, pakistan is a mere piece in the table
