Pakistan’s first export order of the JF-17 ‘Thunder’ fighter aircraft at the first day of the International Paris Air Show has left India concerned.

Pakistan was successful in securing its first ever export order for its JF-17 Thunder fighter at the first day of the International Paris Air Show where a contract was confirmed to have been signed with an Asian country.

PAF Air Commodore dealing in sales and marketing, Khalid Mahmood said “A contract has been signed with an Asian country.” However the name of the country was not disclosed and deliveries are likely to begin in 2017.

The latest models of the jets, which are locally produced in cooperation with China, are lightweight multi-role aircraft capable of Mach 2.0 (twice the speed of sound) with an operational ceiling of 55,000 feet.

Eighty people were promoting the JF-17 in Paris this year, reflecting a significant marketing push.

In comparison Indian Air Force (IAF) is struggling with its light combat aircraft ‘Tejas’, which will take another year to become ready for combat.

The IAF is greatly concerned as it is down to just 35 fighter squadrons while at least 44 are needed to tackle a threat from Pakistan or China.

Moreover the much needed Tejas Mark-II which has a more powerful engine likely needs foreign collaboration if the premier prototype is to take to the skies by 2018-2019 as per expected deadlines.

“Tejas Mark-II is still on the drawing board, with only the preliminary design review being completed till now. The critical design review is far off,” a source claimed.

PESHAWAR / BANNU:
Jet fighters bombed militant hideouts in the North Waziristan Agency on Wednesday, killing at least 10 terrorists as the air offensive in the region continued for a fourth consecutive day.

“Precise air strikes were carried out in the Shawal valley of North Waziristan Agency,” Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. “Pakistan Air Force jet fighters heavily pounded militant positions, killing 10 terrorists.”

Scores of terrorist hideouts were also destroyed in the air strikes, the military’s media wing added.

Intelligence officials who spoke to Reuters suggested the toll could be much higher. “Jet air bombing destroyed five militant hideouts and killed 25 militants,” said one of the two officials who confirmed the death toll to the news agency.

If accurate, this would take the number of insurgents killed in the region this week to 133. According to ISPR, air strikes killed 18 suspected militants on Tuesday, 50 on Monday and 40 on Sunday.

This story repeats every few months... First IT was Nigeria... then it was Sri lanka and then Myanmar... Next they will plant a story of some godforsaken country buying the plane....

Show me one credible news item stating full weapons integration has been carried out for JF17... or JF 17 is used for Any Live mission....
Heck even the weapon testing videos uploaded on web are edited using Chinese videos.

No IAF doesn't gives a shyt to anyone except MOODI jee ?lolzz
Thunder is the king , cause its flying & doing the missions , LCA where the hell it is just on the papers ?lolzz

Even 50 jf 17 against how many LCA ?lolzz
14 year money , spent & the result still is a joke ?lolzz
Lol,you have managed to induct around 50 JF-17 in the last 7 years even though you are only license producing it on behalf of China.Just look at us,we have inducted nearly 230 Su-30MKI at a span of 12 years which also a license produced aircraft like FC-1/JF-17.Otoh,HAL Tejas is a completely indigenous aircraft designed by ADA and manufactured by HAL.So comparing it with JF-17 which is basically a chinese product is like comparing apples with oranges.Plus your P.M. Mr.Nawaz Sharif has himself said that the JF-17 is quite inferior to our Tejas Mk-1!!

I know you Pakistanis are so concerned about the IAF, but dont worry. IAF will get Super 30 MKIs, currently upgrading 29 UPGs, 2000 UPGs, Rafales, FGFAs.

same goes to Jf-17 A.K.A the "Hanger queen" Last time it tried to bomb something this happened :disagree::disagree:

That was a bird strike, come up with something more constructive like how the IAF managed to loose/crash three squadrons of TWIN ENGINE Jaguars without them once firing in anger....as for your cheap shot, LM are still baffled how the IAF managed to crash it's brand new C-130.....in an inverted position.
