A military helicopter with diplomat passengers crash-landed on a school in Gilgit Baltistan’s Naltar Valley, killing seven on board.

The deceased include ambassador of Norway Leif H. Larsen, Ambassador of Philippines Domingo D. Lucenario Jr, wives of Indonesian and Malaysian envoys Mrs Heri Listyawati Burhan Muhammad and Mrs Datin Habibah Mahmud; and three Pakistanis — Maj Faisal (pilot), Maj Altamash (pilot) and Subaidar Zakir (crew).

Preparations have also been made to send the bodies to their home countries.

Why were the foreign diplomats in Gilgit?? Were they there for sight seeing??
 
I think were going there for sight seeing. This is summer and probably the best time to visit this beautiful place.
 
Will PAA be acquiring more used Mi-17s and Puma series helicopters ???
 
These picture show, how close the Helicopter was to the landing point before it crashed. The circle behind trees is a makeshift helipad. A makeshift helipad is partially visible behind rising black smoke. Fallen trees can be seen near crash site and probably those trees were struck by tail section of the helicopter.
