Yup. My folks from father's side are from just across the border--from Rajashtan's desert regions. Seen pics of ladies (my grandma--'Dadi' for example) from years ago with those arms-covering bangles, colorful clothes, and the Dupattas often covering half of their faces. Conservative but not at all extremists.
