What's new

In Pakistan now Fashion&Drama are having things not respectable in Islam

I merely stated an example about the Thai economy "benefiting" from prostitution since you brought in the "economy", if anything you made a "stupid" connection in your post, i merely replied.
my point was simple, dont like it? dont watch it because most of the people follow fashion trends and most of the people do watch dramas

I think we should stop copying others and make things more considerable. Wedding and love there is only two topics ,there is nothing else on TV. We should have some constructive and creative Dramas. While are fashions shows is something a normal good Muslim cannot either bare to see or do. We should have ones with good clothes.
What are your Ideas?

Yaar according to Mullahs TV is haram, agar tum nay daikhna he hai to PeaceTV ya QTV daikho, tum ko kis nay kaha hai wa-hayat dramay daikho

Because Pakistan has always been a moderate country since 1947. It was not made for extremists or some Saudi wannabees.

I agree, the foreign salafist ideology needs to be eradicated.

We all know what the founding fathers wanted and where their influences came from. It was certainly not from taliban or some saudis.

True, but unfortunately the leaders who came after wards took Pakistan in the wrong direction.

I don't find anything vulgar about these dramas or fashion shows. If you don't like it don't watch it. It's that simple.

Its not about "liking" or "watching", its about Pakistan's foundation and Sufi influenced culture, to which, this half nude modeling as well as western materialistic culture is really foreign to.

I can't imagine seeing a Sufi who believes in simplicity and modesty next to a fashion model posing in half nude clothes claiming "well its ok since its benefiting the economy".

Oh? An how would you like it if normal people said, "those who are trying to talibanize Pakistan should move to Afghanistan or Riyadh"

Oh? An how would you like it if normal people said, "those who are trying to Americanize/westernize Pakistan should move to Paris or London"

Really, where did i say i want Pakistan to be "talibanized"?

Its not about "watching" it or "liking" it, its about it being foreign to the founding ideology of Pakistan, just as wahabism/salafism/taliban ideology is foreign to Pakistan.

Sorry, but i don't know where you are getting this "most people" from.

See, this is fine, this is completely in norm with Pakistani culture therefore i have no problem with this, as long as it is a part of Pakistani culture/traditions i have no problem, we should preserve our true culture and traditions instead of importing foreign culture.

You have to move on. No one's saying everyone should get naked and start having orgys on the stage. The fashion industry for the most part uses Pakistani culture and at times mixes it with western culture and the result is always great.
It's 2012 now, lets try to move on from the 1800s.

Maybe you should move to some "nanga land" where every thing will be made to not fit in with Islam- :coffee:-

There should be a little bit of curtosy if some thing is made in supposedly an "Islamic Republic of Pakistan"

Link me up with a visa to nanga land. I might go there in the summer.

So according to you it's bad to have dramas and fashion shows in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan but it's perfectly ok to have people blowing themselves up, mullahs at madrassahs torturing kids, men throwing acid at the faces of innocent women etc.
I never hear people crying about that happening in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan but non hurtful things like Dramas and Fashion shows are what breaks the straw on the camel's back.

our culture isnt going anywhere, biggest example is sufi music which is used by coke studio and it is loved all around the country, young singers do sing sufi music, even in this century, sufi music culture has never been this popular, bt fashion industry does needs to get out of the country to make more profits

Please worry about your own grave..
The biggest problem with Pakistan is people worrying about everybody else's grave.
You are not going in their grave, you have your own with your own deeds to worry about.
You want uber-secularism to end? Fix yourselves first, be model human beings when you call yourselves Muslims.
If you arent even good human beings as Muslims then what good is your pious chastity speech for?

You have to move on.

Move on in improving education? Yes!, move on in providing minorities as well as women rights? Yes! Move on in eradicating poverty and extremism? Yes! But move on in importing materialistic western culture? No! That is not considered "moving on" in in this context.

No one's saying everyone should get naked and start having orgys on the stage.

I wasn't implying that there are "ordy's" on the stage.

The fashion industry for the most part uses Pakistani culture and at times mixes it with western culture and the result is always great.

There's no problem with that, as long as nudity is not involved.

move on from the 1800's? are you implying that i'm suggesting Pakistan should be in the 1800's? And yes it is 2012, but how does that justify incorporating materialistic nude western culture into Pakistani culture?
