Were Sikhs really so dumb as to blindly come to the rescue of these rupee stashers? I suspect they had their own motives and desires for glory. This whole dharmic bhai bhai gets played up far too much. Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists have no underlying spiritual connection that overrides real world concerns. If a Brahmin's stash is threatened by buddhists or Sikhs, he'll slay them, as has happened in centuries past. If Muslims threaten a Brahmin's stash, he'll find someone brave enough to take them on - which is where Sikhs come in.
