In an irony of ironies: the Statue of Unity will be "Made In China"--Times Of India

I dealt with both Chinese and Japanese businessmen for quite some time. There are some profound differences between them when it comes to products quality.

What industry is this? I dealt with both businessmen from China, US and Japan in the field of power systems/system design previously. I honestly don't see too much difference.

How is it not china's fault ? compromising quality to make profit is not a problem ? ...... I agree you get what you pay for. which is why no many people opt for chinese goods.
We don't have forced Indian businessmen to buy Chinese goods. The Chinese sell goods is wrong. Are you sure?

No you don't force, you give it cheap by compromising quality. The end result is that word over your brand name suffers and people identify china with cheap poor quality goods.

We are not talking about the regulated manufacturers, like any players in automotive industries or HRS industries. But majority small commodity businesses ( there are millions, just go to any Xian in Zhejiang ) in China do not even have ISO in mind, and they were ready to cut corners to save costs. What do you think Chinese products bad reputations and lower pricing come from? Let's face it, there are still lots of Chinese small manufacturers who are willing to lower the products quality to meet customers price demands. Japanese business will either do it right or don't it at all. Something Chinese still need to learn from them.

Everything packaged "Made in India" is made else where.

For example, LCA Tejas was made in Israel/Russia/Europe

India's "first tablet" said made in China when you ripped off the battery cover

Half of Indian Bollywood actors are branded made in India but are really made in UK, USA, Pakistan, etc

Even India was made by the British!! It's a fake country through and through

and pigs fly !

Come on, let's face it, hundreds million of your countryman can not afford expensive Japanese goods and cheap Chinese products are just what they need. So you don't really have to pretend that you actually care so much about image of Chinese products.

I don't care about China's image.

I was just stating facts. If you cannot handle the truth, why blame me ?

What has that anything to do with our affordability ? Quality is taken for granted in India. One does not expect poor quality goods.............. except from china.

Given a choice nobody in India wants a chinese goods. Everybody knows chinese goods are cheap, poor quality, quite possibly dangerous and certainly of dubious origins.

Give me a break! The worst quality product I've even used in my life was made in India. Period!

Always give new members a chance, but once they step on the toll train, click the ignore and let that be the end of it. There's fun in debates, no fun in getting sucked into a flame war. Unless you like to flame, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

LOL....why din't you buy chinese products ?

Shameless!

Got it from a yard sale worth $0.25

You don't have to feel ashamed of that. Buying from a yard sale does not make your shameless.

But next time buy measuring instruments from a proper shop. Is that the point ? that you buy made in India stuff from yard sale ?

By accident, didn't know where it was made, just happened I needed that day. It is amazing I could even find a India product in the US, though it is from yard sale and worth a quarter. You are right, I should go to tool shop to get some high quality Made In China stuff.
