In an irony of ironies: the Statue of Unity will be "Made In China"--Times Of India

Got it from a yard sale worth $0.25. "In India , Quality taken for granted" is a shameless statement.

Do you know how to read a vernier calliper ? Do you know what a 1/10 scale is ?

I suggest you stop making a fool of yourself. Take a look below and get educated.

By accident, didn't know where it was made, just happened I needed that day. It is amazing I could even find a India product in the US, though it is from yard sale and worth a quarter. You are right, I should go to tool shop to get some high quality Made In China stuff.

Why din't you ?

"Made In India" only 25 cents, Made In China would cost $14.99. That's why.

But your own post show that Made in India is a quality product for 25 cents

Made in china is 14.99 $ with questionable quality. So again your fail to make your point.

I am seriously starting to doubt your IQ.

For throw away one time use, 25 cents Made In India is fine.

That is the good India quality that you are so proud of and all Indians take granted for? No wonder I can't see anything "Made in India" stuff here. My only experience with Made In India was this from a yard sale, not sure I will see something else from India, maybe underwear or socks? Let me check. :cheesy:

LOL..... you have failed to explain what was wrong with the vernier calliper you showed. It looked like you were ignorant of how it works. :cheesy:

You can hardly blame India for that.

Your butt hurt is understandable after your Epic Fail.

We are not talking about the regulated manufacturers, like any players in automotive industries or HRS industries. But majority small commodity businesses ( there are millions, just go to any Xian in Zhejiang ) in China do not even have ISO in mind, and they were ready to cut corners to save costs. What do you think Chinese products bad reputations and lower pricing come from? Let's face it, there are still lots of Chinese small manufacturers who are willing to lower the products quality to meet customers price demands. Japanese business will either do it right or don't it at all. Something Chinese still need to learn from them.

Ah, in that case, it is mostly an issue of establishing regulation for smaller industries. You are perfectly right in that regard. It is a pretty major issue. To be fair though, nowadays it is improving. You should see what it was like in the 90s.

.
No you don't force, you give it cheap by compromising quality. The end result is that word over your brand name suffers and people identify china with cheap poor quality goods.
In the same price. Can you give me a India products better than the Chinese products?

I think people in India is very patriotic. But I think most people in India is very wise.So they choose the products made in China. This is a silent democracy.:welcome:

I have no idea since I have not bothered to find out. But you can use google and find out.

Affordability is what determines purchase. The poor buy cheap poor quality chinese goods, the rich buy Good quality alternatives most of which is not chinese brands.

BTW here is some news related to the thread,

AHMEDABAD: Following reports that work for 'Statue of Unity' - the memorial to Sardar Patel that would be the tallest statue in the world when completed - had been subcontracted to a foundry in China, the contractors for the project, Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T), on Wednesday, clarified that the statue is being built in India and the company is sourcing only bronze plates from China.

"The entire statue itself is being built in India at the site and only the bronze cladding in the form of bronze plates is being sourced from China, which constitutes a negligible amount of less than 9% of the total value of project," L&T said in an official statement.

The statue, a pet project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be installed on Sadhu Bet near Sardar Sarovar dam and has been given the status of 'National Project'.

According to L&T, the plates are put together and erected on the core of reinforced concrete and structural steel at the Sadhu Hill site after assembly and welding. Thus, the notion of the statue in its entirety being shipped from China is a total misunderstanding, the company said. L&T was awarded the Statue of Unity project by the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rashtriya Ekta Trust
