Imran Khan to skip PSL final: spokesman

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman will not watch Pakistan Super League (PSL) final at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the party’s spokesman Fawad Chaudhry said on Tuesday.

The PSL final is scheduled to be held in Lahore on March 5.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Fawad explained Imran Khan’s position on the issue, saying Imran Khan had not opposed holding of PSL in Pakistan but had merely expressed his concerns regarding terrorism.

He said that the international cricket could not return to Pakistan by holding a single match of the league in Lahore by “imposing curfew”.

On the issue of military courts, the PTI spokesman said that all the political parties have agreed on providing extension to the military courts in the country, adding that there is no justification of All Parties Conference called by PPP.

Not a fan of psl final in Lahore under present circumstances but this is a poor decision

This govt is using this PSL as a political stunt. Majority of tickets stold to nooni poooni lolli supporters through Punjab Bank. Go Nawaz Go nay narooon say bachnay kiliye this International Choor PM Dubai ke ceremony may nahe gaya PSL ki kis kis ka moo bandh karengay... Pakistan may tu ye har do number kam karsakhtay han

Even though i agree with you, it is a bad idea to skip the finals. Not giving a good message on his part, forget the government.

Pathetic. This is a horrific move. The thing is despite the fact that this PSL final will have little reward and greater risks for our cricket attached to it, however it doesn't mean that he should involve his politics. You can't defend this move considering the fact that tickets are being sold out with hundreds waiting in lines. Everybody is coming to watch this match. What is his message here? That he can't watch a PSL final with the people.

His reservations on PSL being held is different and a topic completely different but now that its happening he should be there. His lack of presence will do more harm and will only help his opponents and destroy his image.

Sometimes you simply have to set party politics aside and support the country.
Personally I hate the politicians...all of them but love pakistan
