With the recent approval of giving overseas Indians easy access to Pakistani visa, along with other India-friendly policy initiatives recently taken by current PTI administration I think this is an excellent direction that Imran Khan and PTI are taking Pakistan in. Hopefully the next step will be to give Indians from India itself access to Pakistani visas with the eventual goal of making visa-free travel between the two countries as this will promote people-to-people relations and friendship between Muslims and Hindus but will also boost Pakistan's economy.

There is so much tourism potential and money making opportunities here by forming friendly relations with India as so many members here rightfully pointed out in the linked thread: https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/175-...-arrival-foreign-indians-included-too.598727/

We do need to have peace with India for the betterment of Pakistan

to see a progressive Pakistan, Peace with neighbor countries is one of the key.

Some idiots want us to ignore the 1.4 billion Indian market just for the sake of some differences ?

I have some indian friends who wanted to visit so i guess they can now!

there are many indians who want to visit Pakistan! Including my friends.

But then there were those who voiced their apprehension, citing the harsh treatment that Indians give to Pakistanis who apply for Indian visa:

not too sure if its a good idea allowing Indians with foreign passports to enter Pakistan, while at the same its notoriously difficult even for British Pakistani's to obtain an Indian visa,

While some cited other reasons like normalizing friendly relations with Indians would nullify the reasons for partition and separation from India:

This is normalizing people-to-people relations, which then nullifies the whole purpose of partition; ie if Hindu Indians and Muslim Pakistanis can have relationships on a people-to-people level then there is no need for partition, military spending and Muslim-Hindu divide, AKA two nation theory.

if some Pakistanis truly want to forget what India did to Pakistan in the past and how it continues to oppress Kashmiris for the sake of tourism and investment (money) and normalize India's image then of course they are free to take that route, but they cannot accuse Indians of being oppressors of Muslims in the same breath and cry crocodile tears.

And then others proposed other alternatives to seeking Indian tourists:

Instead of focusing on economic growth and establishing ties with countries such as the Central Asian Republics, Turkey, Iran, South Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia, Venezuela, Brazil and so on. We want to shove our already fragile and battered internal security with granting ridiculously coined "E-Visas" to these baniyas.

As can be seen this is a divisive subject.

I for one fully support Imran Khan/PTI's initiative and am in favor of open tourism and inve$tment from Indians. We were once one people and are still the same people divided by political differences created by power hungry politicians.

Kashmir is really a political dispute, which can easily be resolved by accepting current LoC as international border. In this age of globalization money is more important and borders are irrelevant.

What are your thoughts?

War between us is out of question now (thanks to nukes) talks/friendly relations are the only way forward. Kashmir issue can be resolved through talks. People to people relation is one of the steps to achieve this. We know there are people on both sides who would love to kill each other rather than live peacefully but we've to be realist here. If some people have concerns of RAW agents infiltrating than they should trust ISI, MI etc?

While this may sound good to ears for some but this is not as easy to achieve as you think. Kashmir issue needs a fair referendum.

Well brother like you said the only way forward is through peace and I'm not willing to stick my neck out for Kashmir when I can make money from tourism and friendly relations with Indians.

Kashmir is history. We have a piece and Indians have a piece, it's now time to accept this reality and move on. They can do whatever they want with their Kashmir, its not our business.

It is better. This whole India vs. Pakistan and Hindu vs. Muslim bs is a political gimmick. There is nothing wrong with Hindus and Muslims living side by side or meeting each others marrying each other or being friends with each other. We are all humans in the end and we all want to make money.

This is an era of globalization. Religious differences and nationalism is outdated and medieval. Let's all just make our money in peace.

Money is not everything man look at the young Kashmiri population they want freedom they're relying on us they trust us on this we can't just abandon them. You want Pakistan to have a tag of a country who after fighting 4 wars betrayed Kashmir and Kashmiris just for few $$$? And what about Kashmiri youth? How you think they're gonna react? We've invested too much backing out isn't an option for Pak or Ind. Referendum is the way forward not any other solution.

But some people want to overlook that and kiss Indian @ss for tourism money.

Just look at the rhetoric. They are willing to give up Kashmir.

Is it any wonder Musharraf sold Pakistani citizens like Aafia Sidiqui for some American ca$h? These people are sellouts of the same breed.

1/2 or 2000 sell outs? sure-------------

but what about the 22 crore / blind? ---------- who just watch-- and suffer-- but dont stand up....

Oppression that is clearly inexorable and invincible does not give rise to revolt but to submission.

Well said.

One poster in your quoted comments said that it is difficult for Pakistanis to visit India.

Is that true ?? I thought some Pakistanis come to India for medical treatment.

By the way, I voted for "Yes, we need money and investments" in the poll.

.
As Bhutto said it once "We will eat grass but we will make bomb to make Pakistan Strong". Current generation is way too much of a snowflake. How is this even a question? We need investments and money but not until India gives right of self-determination to Kashmiri's.

Btw, pretty sure only indian's would choose the 1st choice, I mean how is that even a question.

.
its a catch 22

the visa- exemption /relaxation/ shoud be reciprocal-----

but i would rather prefer the kashmir liberation the first step-------

the first step is only good when direction is preplanned---------- otherwise keep turning in circles.
Bro, we can rule out Kashmir because nothing is gonna happen in that regard. It's a waste of time.
