In this thread I would like to discuss the implications of Chinese investment in Iran on the region especially Pakistan, CIEC will probably be connected to CPEC. How will this affect Pakistan's relations with GCC. How will this affect Turkey? How will this move affect China's relations with ME countries(mainly KSA and UAE)?

It will not effect my country.
There is nothing we gain or lose from this.

KSA and UAE are puppet states of USA. This creates a problem for China, in the event of war, USA can just tell KSA and UAE to stop exporting oil to China. By investing in Iran, that risk has been reduced significantly
Who told you this information? Santa claus?

It's actually quite simple. Iran, by virtue of its demographics, level of economic diversification, education, etc. should be the natural hegemon of the Gulf. The reason it isn't is because of the cumulative effect of US sanctions that disconnect Iran from the global economy and US support for weaker states in the region. The deal with China - even if it didn't have a security component - would restore Iran's natural position by giving it access not only to its own gargantuan market, but to the rest of the world economy through China.

That's the most significant long-term effect of the deal with China, not China interfering in the Middle East through Iran. China doesn't need to do that, Iran being more capable of pursuing its own interests automatically serves China's interests.

As for Pakistan, the deal should improve relations between Pakistan and Iran simply because China wants both of them to get along. Much like how relations between Korea and Japan are better than they otherwise would be because of their relationships with America.

By looking at the immense changes in Turkey's foreign policy since Erdoğan came into power, Turkey must be planning to take advantage of this. Chinese and Turkish economic cooperation has grown in recent years so considering that how will this affect Turkey's relations with Iran. Are we going to see a lot of cooperation between Turkey and Iran?

Exactly, but how badly will this affect Pakistan's and China's relations with GCC?

Depends on what we can offer and China cant.

China and Iran deal has nothing to do with GCC countries.
It is not meant to count GCC or anything like that and I'm sure they(GCC) won't think from that perspective either.
So I say there won't be any impact on China GCC relation.

Same for Pakistan, as a sovereignty country Pakistan can/should develop good relationship with any country if that is her national interests. GCC don't have legit stand to object such thing.
For this case, GCC especially don't have a saying to Pakistan. After all it's China-Iran deal, Pakistan just naturally trying to seize some opportunities. They need to handle China first if that deal bothers them.
If GCC really worry about potential Iran influence in Pakistan, this will give Pakistan more diplomatic leverage when talking to Iran and GCC respectively:D

I think it would improve them because it would put Pakistan in a position of strength. The GCC countries will want to increase investment in Pakistan so they don't lose influence in Pakistan.

GCC also have leverage on us as most of our expats reside in ME, these expats are responsible for the majority of our foreign remittances.

Seems there is potential split happening now between GCC and Pakistan.
Compare to other things happening now, seems this deal has less impact in terms of Pakistan GCC relationship.

How big influence does GCC has in Pakistan in your opinion btw?
