Really feeling sorry for Pakistanis. They r going nowhere as a country.

Hopefully hasina will be kind enough to help them out. Pakistan needs all the economic help right now and as the fastest growing economy in this region we Bangladeshis do have some responsibilities.

Yes,

we have surprised the whole world with our economic growth. Long may it continue.
Is this the best you can come. up with lungi. Let the free quota finish will see where yoy4 economy goes.

Still, not begging around to maintain minimum forex reserve. Have some shame.
Have some shame after getting a thrashing but I know endians in general are losers and cry babies by nature.

.
Looks like a mistake there, Pakistan's economy will decrease in 2018 to 2019 from $312.57 to $278.019 billions?????????..........going in to negative equity????????????............Not even the Somalian economy is going in to negative equity...........

PKR got devalued majorly....so its to be expected (given this is nominal).

Bangladesh on other hand gets a boost from freebie access of the only one good it exports (i.e very little competition).....thus extrapolating this 1:1 to its inflation laden economy is common thing that lot of illiterate BD posters do here.

The real thing that matters is taking into account the inflation present, PPP goes one step more and calibrates the price level of consumption (to actual physical consumption) too:

https://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/weo/2018/02/weodata/weorept.aspx?pr.x=58&pr.y=8&sy=2014&ey=2023&scsm=1&ssd=1&sort=country&ds=.&br=1&c=513,564,534&s=NGDPRPPPPC&grp=0&a=

As you can see Pakistan is not in negative growth there of course (this is what matters much more than the nominal exchange rate.....since 99.9% of transactions a country does with its own economy is not with the USD/forex).

But Bangladesh is expected to meet Pakistan there around 2023 too.

Pakistan has to turn things around (from its current slow stagnancy), that much is clear.

Also, this figure isn't set in stone, and I don't believe for a second that Pakistan lost that huge of an amount in GDP. If it did, than it should have experienced a -10% growth rate of gdp in 2017-2018 fiscal year, which it did not do, it's growth rate for 2017-2018 was +4.5%.

Pakistan measures its growth (current and constant) in PKR. Every country does the same (growth rate is in local currency).

What is being quoted here by OP and BD ppl is USD nominal....which is a pretty flawed number to use for GDDS standard country that is sensitive to inflation dumping (and in BD case, over-reliance on just one export that it gets tariff free quotas for in its biggest market - EU).

Butt-hurt comes and imparts wisdom that IMF does not have.:(

To both of these, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but i don't necessarily think that's the complete case here. Regardless of the value of the rupee, the value of a product which has been produced, doesn't just automatically decrease, just because a currency weakens. GDP shows the over all value of an economy, rupee fluctuation shouldn't have that much of an effect.

It depends on what the underlying condition is, given when you use a currency that you do not print to measure your economy, it very much depends on the demand and supply of that said currency (USD) for Pakistan.

In most developing countries that are somewhat isolated to global supply chains and also do not have a huge trade/economy ratio to begin with.....you can definitely be growing internally, but have your USD nominal stagnant or even decrease (given that depends on your competitiveness externally with what you produce to sell compared to what you buy from everyone else...and the trends regarding those......as compared to the much closer logistics-friendly + "more insulated" local sell and buy internal only stuff).

What are these bangladeshis on? Create a thread and gloating about how you are beating pakistan GDP?

Good luck on your success. We are happy for any muslims to succeed and lift people out of poverty.

However Dont come here and gloat and not expect to be slapped up.

If money and economy is all you measure success by then you are morally bankrupt.

As some posters stated you have built your economy but where is the self respect, you are operating as a vassal state, your citizens routinely get killed on the border, Indians could take over Dhaka in a day. Rohingyas are slaughtered and you guys do nothing.

Trust me if Bangladesh lived a day faced with the enemies Pakistan does you wouldn't have an iota of success you claim, so pipe down and less of the boasting.

.
Why are some bangladeshis so obsessed with Pakistan that they want to compare everything in their country with that of Pakistan, that looks so stupid.

.
No luck lah, the size differences is quite large unless India balkanized on the way. Bangladesh should set aim against country like South Korean or Japan

Malaysia, Indonesia is doing better economically than Bd altough they are not homogenous in population and had rather large debt.

Give it time.

Despite the crap being posted here, BD is doing ok.

Also I don't get the need to always compare BD with PK.

What were you thinking OP when you made this thread?

Bangladesh and Vietnam will be the next growth engine of Asia.

You sure about that bro?

Have you met the average Bangladeshi living in the west? One of their "elite" ones? There is a reason they can only export and perform what they do (only so much brains, and only so much handouts the developed world gives them....which is going to be really bad news for them when it finally ends, given they are not transitioning to anything worthwhile fast enough).

.
Bangladesh should have been independent from Day One and it should have added North Arakan to it and spare the Rohingya their suffering.

I think if that happened then Bangladesh would have openly opposed Kashmir brutalities and been able to help there. Two suffering populations would have been saved.

Regarding the second half of your post.

It's time for an enema pal.

. . .
I'd love to sit down and have a chat with you.

It may open your eyes in regards to Bengalis in the West.

I've got enough Bangladeshi friends :) (the actual few smart ones that do exist in the larger group)....and trust me they agree that BD ppl are pretty awfully "meh" (and thats being polite) on average....and need to fundamentally change the way they operate in the society they come from....to have a chance at actual sustained reach into the parts of economy/higher thought/wealth etc etc that matter.

It bears out pretty brutally in all the 3rd party stats (both in the west and inside BD) that cannot be faked.

Whatever else you want to chat about, well thats what the discord is there for.

I judge individual first, so of course there are very good talented Bangladeshis that are doing great. But looking at the macro-stats, the group is doing very mediocre to bad (and that bears out in many more individuals I come across too). Definitely will not be a growth engine on the level of Vietnam.....too much green in the picture, too much dependency on one thing....and that is something again you lot have to fix.....rather than haranguing the Pakistanis (and then Indians, Indonesians, Burmese or whomever about after that) about whatever is going on with them, as though such stuff is apples to apples entirely.
