You are tuned in different frequency. We are discussing the celebration of Bangla New Year by Muslim from Islamic prospective of view. No one is discussing the existence of bangla calendar or who came up with it. That a different discussion.

Bangla calendar is based on nature of bengal and its agricultural landscape. It has nothing to with Islamic calendar or Islam itself. We Muslim use Arabic calendar to celebrate our festivals. Last time I checked celebration of bangla New Year wasn’t included. Islamic scholars look at it as Musriki festival. On the other side Hindus in Bengal use bangla calendar for their religious and non-religious festival based on the nature of Bengal. It probably been celebrated by them with smaller scale. It’s a fairly new phenomena to Muslim and sadly some ignorant Muslim participate in this un-Islamic activity.

Akbar(allaluddin Muhammad) was creator of the concept "Zill-E-Elahi". He tried to mix purity of Islam with Hinduism. It's very much questionable about his Islamic faith. ALLAHU ALAM. So who knows what he was thinking????

The point is not that if it is anti-Islamic or not after all we also live and befriend with anti-Islam elements from bharat and US and other countries.

The point is promotion of such festivals are aimed at eleminating one's faith by those who wants to distort one's faith and in case of Islam we all know we have many enemies of our faith.

Islam is not as brittle as you think. Bengalis embraced Islam by their own as they deemed necessary. Before that they tried Buddhism. Nothing was imported from Bharat or US. What we do here is solely ours and if Bharat wants, they can take some from us and they can start celebrating some Bharati New year by themselves.

Just as you cannot be a Hindu, if you do not belong to any caste which is evident from your surname. You cannot be a communist, if you claim to be a Hindu Brahmin as one of your friends toxic_pus proudly claims. But how much Brahmin one can be if he does not know about his gotra, if he has dark skin, if he does not have a good merit, if he does not follow Vedic rituals, if he does not abide by the rules of Manusmriti, if he worships dark deities? As it is not easy to be a communist, also it is not easy to be a Brahmin without purity.
