This is where we shall part our ways. Perfection is Idealism and it exists only in ones mind. What is perfect to you may not be so to me. What is perfect to me, may not be so to you.

We all revere our beliefs and faiths. Doesn't mean that we have to be so vocal about it.

Regards.

letting one be vocal about his belief is also a sign of tolerance and wisdom. the value of "g" is slightly different depending on where you measure it, but the formula for using it in F=mg is universally perfect.
I personally believe in Islam not because my father is muslim. But I have carefully reviewed all religions(most major ones) and decided to be a Muslim for a reason. I am vocal about at least letting other know that cause it has helped me find the right path and I dearly want others to find it too and there is simply nothing wrong in it. Any civilized individual should appreciate that I have the courage of being vocal about what I feel. If you let your voice be heard, I would not mind regardless of how radical that might be compared to mine. Because according to the religion that I believe, people have the rights to do whatever they want to do, as long as they don't transgress his limit and invade someone else's. If I thought Islam was flawless solely depending on perspective, then I'd have certainly not followed it. If you try to preach your version of belief, in any subject let's say, I would not feel threatened as long as you are not shoving it in me. When I said Islam does not have shortcoming, I said it because whatever perspective you see it from, it does not have any flaw. If you have any reason to differ from my Ah, now if you say, perspective is like...whatever point of view one takes while analyzing certain matters, defying common sense if needed, then that's not debatable for me. Because then we would not even have the power to distinguish between right and wrong. Anyone can make any absurd claim that might not be harmful for me but you may suffer from it and life would be chaos and even though entropy of the universe heads towards more and more chaos, our intention is always to reverse it;that's the only way to try to make everything better for everyone in this world.

No short answer for this so here goes.....

Hi Al Zakir,

I asked you earlier, so you are not allowed to celebrate the independence day of bangladesh (or pakistan), or army day, navy day etc?

In perfect Islamic condition probably not a good idea to celebrate these days with such waste because Islam doesn’t like ritual practices. For example birth day or marriage day isn't even allow to celebrate according to religious scholars but many does.
Now in a less perfect Islamic condition I guess celebrating those days is OK with caution. If are done with implanting our own Islamic values and culture to strengthen our identity and unite our people to serve our nation and Islamic Ummah and man kind than it's not bad things but over edge restrain required.

I just want to know you are really against 'invention' or only allergic to what u perceive to be Hindu!

Instead of giving you yes or no answer I would like to explain my stance.

Hindus aren't people of book (Ahle-Kitab) thus Hinduism isn't same categorized religion like Islam according to qur'aan and Sunnah rather consider Musriki(sin of polytheism) culture so therefor I dislike hindu culture and not Hindu person. I don't have any problem if Hindu does it in their own privacy.

Now I do have problem with celebrating Bangla new year the way they are doing it now a days. It almost picture Bangladesh as Hindu state. Fact is celebration of Bangla new years has been altered from it's original form as Idune stated
Idune said:
Bangla new year is a purely cultural event. And traditionally business open new accounting book called “hal khata”, women who can afford wears colorful shari, special meals are eaten, there are mela or local exhibitions where mostly kids goes and enjoy different rides, eats snacks and enjoy company of friends and family. That’s how traditional Bengali new years have been celebrated for ages.

But what has been seen over last few years are monkey and other animal masks and costume has been brought out including hindu holi style ritual of face and body painting. These are not original Bangladeshi tradition but mostly foreign one brought from Hindu ritual. And another interesting fact is that these rituals are practiced mostly around Bangla academy and Dhaka University venue where most prominent Bengali new year celebration takes place.
By pushing Hindu rituals into a purely cultural celebration a section of Bangladeshis (with help of indian hand) trying to impose Hindu religious overtone over majority population. And no one should expect that will bring any congenial outcome
to Hindunized Bangladesh by confusing Bangladeshi Muslim (especially young generation) in the name of bangali culture to convert our conservative society to liberal to implement Indian hegemonic agenda as author of this article foresee:

Then what is that they like to do with Muslim Bangladesh?
The answer is simple. They want a vassal state with no army, no foreign policy and an ever depended pariah neighbour. An over exuberant Bengali New Year celebration, I strongly feel, is the early exercise directed towards it. Ignorant Bangladeshis are just dancing in the tune of someone else of which they have no knowledge and they do not know who are playing the flute and for what.
So this Musriki practice should be stop for sake our nation with Islamic identity.

Your thread has been corrupted Jakir bhai by deliberate constant ranting of some members of your neighboring aggressive country. It shows how the spirit and character of Bangladesh have been undergoing severe attack of corrupt ideological penetration as in case of the benglai new-year celebration. :undecided:

Nauzubillah Minzalik

I am with you zakir..........if you dont want hindu culture dont accept it,and the bangladeshis are smart enough not to accept it........although i think the so called hindu influence was very small and negligible in bd,.........as i said earliear most of us and some of our bd friends protested because, the authur actually rubbishes the new year tradition which includes the opening of the hal-khata......thnx

I knew you'd resort to some such mental gymnastics.

If celebrating bangla new year without praying to any hindu gods (which muslims of course do not do) is shirk, then celebrating bangla independece day is equally shirk, unless ur primary concern is not purity of ur faith but hatred of the kafir's ways. after all bangla independence weakened the ummah!

of course, puritanicals of today are more concerned with the 'enemy' than with iman.

....I dislike hindu culture and not Hindu person.
How do you exactly separate "hindu culture" from a "hindu person", so as to not "dislike" the man, but "dislike" his identity, which makes him what he is in the first place.

Let me grab some popcorn...:pop:

There are a lot of people who has nothing to do with Bengali culture and tradition are over jealous of seeing the affluence of Bengalis for their tradition, intellectuality, liberalism and forwardness. They just cant stand it. My suggestion to them, just work on your own culture, instead of asking Bengalis to abandon what their own. Also what Bengali new year has to do with Indian influence? I never heard any Indian national new year other than 1st january. There are some regional new year which are observed in a very limited scale.
What we like to do in Bangladesh, we want to see our new year to be recognized as Chinese new year, Iranian new year, Thai new year, or any Julian new year. Obama did not send any new years wish to Monmohan Singh but he sent that to Hasina. We dont want to stop here yet. Bangladesh already in the process of sending request to UN to incorporate Bengali as one of the UN official language with existing 4 or 5 i cant recall. We also want to see any diplomat comes to BD, first try to learn little bit of Bangla so that we can communicate with them in our own language. We just dont want to be only recipient of learning somebody else's culture tradition and languages but we want the whole world should learn ours as well.

Thanks

Sanctity of any ideology, belief or culture depends on its purity. When the particular ideology or whatever loses its purity after being corrupted by some aggressive external diplomatic ideological forces, then loser ideology becomes a mere puppet in the sense that when it is put in to practice, it cannot work with its own guidelines, rather imitates what is diplomatically imposed by the aggressive opponent ideology.

Why some Bangladeshi Muslims are not realizing this, I simply do not understand. Why such lack of confidence and Din? They might become losers one day.

well, the bangladeshis are smart enough to understand whats good for them and whats not........they know when their ideology is in danger........they dont need any racist to preach them how to see and follow religion...... Thnx

Ha ha ha ha ha

Those talking of purity of ideas are mixing mulla omar and karl marx themselves! while attacking hindus under the garb of communism, they can't stop praising islamists!!!

seriously, shame is the first thing hatred makes one lose.
