I wonder what happened to PAC's civil utility aircraft project. Although I am not sure if the target market would have been keen on an entry player like PAC, the project did seem technologically feasible.

An indigenous VTOL drone of some sort. Looks like a surveillance drone. Too small to deliver bombs. Not a lot of info has been shared.

This year was the best in terms of IDEAS iterations. Makes us happy, but the prospect of an imploding economy makes it go away equally quick. May Allah help Pakistan.

This thing has a range of just 330kms. Add two cans of fuel and it goes 450km. Sign of an inefficient engine. Reverse speed is 14.5km

AK can do 440km without canisters with 24km in reverse.

AKs engine makes rather poor torque, it being underpowered and under-stressed is one of the reasons for its decent fuel economy and reliability.

The VT4 is more mobile and hence has easier provisions for better ERA, add on armor and an APS as a result. Not to mention the transmission is significantly simpler and more reliable, that being said, the AKs rather unique and complex transmission is what allows it to go that fast in reverse (which, if it isn’t clear enough to other readers already, is a major advantage on the battlefield, Indian T90S and T72s are limited to just 4 KM/H reverse speeds) and to have decent enough mobility despite poor torque.

There’s a reason HIT has been working so hard on trying to fit the VT4s powertrain into the AK apart from Ukraine's delivery issues, and a reason they’ve been failing too, it’s a very complicated job.

There’s only one guy in all of Pakistan who understands the AKs transmission enough to do actual R&D work on it. The same guy has written the definitive book on it and even corrected Ukrainian manuals for the powertrain where they had made mistakes.
