IAF to order 100 modified Tejas aircraft

Tejas is just a replacement for mig21. Tejas can't replace mig 27, leave jagwar miraje. Rafale will replace mig27 and in the long term jagwars in iaf.

Tejas MK1 can replace Mig 21 and 27-- With modern El/M 2052 MMR it has both air 2 air, SAR, GMIT capability + litering 2 pod to drop LGB like spice 250, wake penetration, night operation.

Tejas MK2 which will have more powerful engine to nullify the STR shortfall can replace Mirrage 2000

ok leave aside AESA for now what according to you is the position of LCAs true combat load and combat radius

Because the era of F-16 has come to the end and F-16IN is the last version of that, because USA will focus on its F-35 which already have the long que waiting with 1000 nos of order. Somehow India have to start at some point in the fighter plane development, and this was the last chance for the Indian to do that, and the reason for that needs more than 100 words to explain but in short, the tech. is evolving too fast and too keep up with the changing technology lot of funds is required like China. By the time you reach to some level, the level of the technological world is several folds higher.

It is laughable when you say that Rafale shall replace Mig 27 which has a very limited role in interception and dog fight. Rafale is a modern multi role fighter.

HariPrasad there is a difference between the multirole fighter plane and the Ground attack fighter plane.
Mig 27 is the ground attack plane, that means it don't have A2A Radar, just 2 WVR, more armour to take on the machine gun fire, Rockets, and bomb to pound/attack the ground target. The replacement of it is Su-24 for Ground attack fighter, however Rafale is the multirole/Swingrole which can swing its role as the need is arises.

That is exactly what I argue. Rafale can all what Mig 27 does but it is not a replacement of Mig 27 as it can do much more than what Mig 27 can do.

Lolz, Janab even you cannot tell about your range of doing jogging.
1 If you run fast, you will loose more energy fast and your range will be less.
2. If I loaded you with 20 kg of sandbag on you back your range will be less.
3. On early morning when temp. is favorable you make more distance than the hot afternoon your lange will be less
