IAF to order 100 modified Tejas aircraft

Rafale deal pani mai?
Waiting for funds. Whenever available they will get next batch of 44/more. Total 189 might come if possible. Tejaj will just replace the flying coffin

That was the earlier plan. Now I think 32 more Rafale max. Push to Tejas MK2 to replace Mig 27/Mirrage 2000 and starting AMCA target of achieving 2030, dropping FGFA and offself buy 40 Pakfa

tejaz vs J-7
who will win?

India obviously :) :) :) see those broad wing span on Tejas we can draw hypnotic circles on it. Pilots chasing this will be easily hypnotized and make them forget what they were planning to do

Tejas to replace Mirage, Jaguars and MiG-29s?? WTF is this guy talking about? Their roles are completely different. Tejas cannot be a replacement for them.

well.....one is your Tejas and the other one with which it is being compared..JF 17 Thunder
There is no comparison as JF-17 is developed by Chinese for export and Tejas is not only a plane but the project to develop the critical tecnology in India like Engine, FBW, Fadeec, composites in the country and to create the ecosystem

Fill the Form then or ask some expert both Pakistani and Indian unbiased

The fighter plane consists of primrary three things Airframe, engine, Avionics

1. Airframe : LCA/JF-17 ?
a) ITR : LCA/JF-17 ?
b) STR : LCA/JF-17 ?
c) AoA : LCA/JF-17 ?
d) Ferry Range : LCA/JF-17 ?
e) Combat Range : LCA/JF-17 ?
f) RCS : LCA/JF-17 ?
g) Weapon load and no. of pylon : LCA/JF-17 ?

2. Engine F404 vs RD93 : LCA/JF-17 ?
a) life : LCA/JF-17 ?
b) Maintainance friendly : LCA/JF-17 ?

3. Avionics
a) MMR Radar El/M 2052 vs KLJ : LCA/JF-17 ?
b) EW suite : LCA/JF-17 ?
c) Litering Pod 2 vs WMD 7 : LCA/JF-17 ?
d) Future IRST Skyward vs Chinese: LCA/JF-17 ?
e) Netcentric Sensor fussion : LCA/JF-17 ?
f) HMDS : LCA/JF-17 ?

4. Armament
a) Derby vs SD 10A: LCA/JF-17 ?
b) Python 5 vs PL 5 : LCA/JF-17 ?
c) Brahmos Mini(proposed) vs Raa;d
d) KH 31/35 vs Mar 1 : LCA/JF-17 ?
e) KH ? vs Cm x : LCA/JF-17 ?

5. Misc.
a) V shape inlet vs DSI : LCA/JF-17 ?
b) Variants (airforce, naval, carrier, trainer): LCA/JF-17 ?
c) Export Prospects : LCA/JF-17 ?
d) Cost : LCA/JF-17 ?
e) Future Growth : LCA/JF-17 ?

Hope that will be helpful to you !!

NEW DELHI: Changing its long standing stance on the abilities of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is now convinced that an improved version of the homegrown fighter that is being ordered will perform better that the JF17 that is being produced in Pakistan.

The IAF is placing an order for 100 modified Tejas aircraft in addition to an older order for 20 planes, confident that it would beat the Pakistani competitor on four parameters — reach, weapons, ability to kill and survivability.

With the upgraded LCA line to be activated, the air force will rejig its fighter procurement plans to accommodate 120 of the indigenous planes within the next 11 years, defence ministry officials said.

"This line of Tejas will fill an acute shortage as our Mirage, Jaguars and MiG-29s are due to retire in 10 years," a defence ministry official told ET.

The air force has, however, asked Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to add newer capabilities in the Tejas. The four new specifications include an Active Electronically Scanned Array ( AESA) radar, along range beyond visual range missile, air-to-air refueling and electronic warfare capability which will enhance survivability of the aircraft.
Once HAL and ADA assures the design and development of this Tejas variant, the air force will step up to order 100 additional aircrafts after the first 20 are delivered," the official said.

just one thing which i dont get tejas offical wepons & extranal feul load on its external hardpoints is said to be 3500Kg-4000Kg but this last picture says on its 3 main hard points can carry 3600KG and the rest 4 can carry 1900KG while it can carry 200KG on its forward hard point so it means 3600+1900+200=5700 KG :o:

then there are reports it has a better power to wieght ratio than JF-17 and is lighter than it while it carries more internal feul than JF-17 then how come its range is half that of JF-17

first i was confused about its range and now its load carrying capacity .... ye majra kya hai bhai :what:

AESA? Where from? Which one?

A JF-17 pilot in 2015 tries to mimic Tejas's performance (timed turn rate, time to top of loop & timed roll rate) in the 2011 Bangalore Air Show. see the difference in video.

Tejas can not replace Mig 29 but replacing Jaguar and mirage is very much possible.
Tejas is just a replacement for mig21. Tejas can't replace mig 27, leave jagwar miraje. Rafale will replace mig27 and in the long term jagwars in iaf.

The maximum load that a single pylon could be loaded is near the wing root i.e near the fuselarge, and the centerline hardpoint. It means that the other pylon which are near the wingtip could not be loaded with heavy loads like fuel tank. Lca has 2 hardpoint under its belly, in which one could be used for heavy load loaded on its pylon and another hardpoint as lighter load. Leave aside all the calculations because what actually happens in the real world is that no fighter plane is heavily loaded. Just watch the Op Desert Storm video, the F15 going for the mission with just couple of BVR and Wvr.

LOLZ

Power/wt ratio of 1.07 or 1.25 or 1.5 at what speed, altitute, and fuel load.
The Plane flying in the airshow with 1/4th of the fuel with no weapon will have more P/W ratio than with the 2/3 fuel and load of 2000kg ordnance

. I haven't even touch altitude factor

Uttam is the distant dream. Better go for the Selex Aesa which is available and offered with Skyward IRST. No delay is required at this stage, let Uttam take its time.

ok leave aside AESA for now what according to you is the position of LCAs true combat load and combat radius :pop:
