i dont know why indians are crying :what:

No one is crying, Indians are just introspecting,.... We need to have 3 to 4 times stronger Armed forces than Pakistan (Coz we are a big growing country). To defend India from china we need it... The analysts are just giving there opinion to govt....

china is our competitor and non-trustworthy... China can attack India anytime, so we need to be prepared..

.
typical sensationalist, emotional media of india and its hysteria

no wonder indians --at least the ones one comes across here -- are such paranoid people.....their news has the real ''ahhhhh eeeeeeeee oooo la la'' factor to it

scare those people into submission with its catchy, spooky headlines and tickers

I mean, theyre doing almost marketing campaign for PAF or something; even our own media doesnt give so much attention to PAF

I am for the spread of such misinformation if it helps in any way...it's an arguably an American thing...to always be overtly critical of your own preparedness viz-a-viz your opponents...I see your point...and it's valid...
but this guy from headlines today...this Shiv Aroor is has his own defence blog and knows what he talks about...his statistics are true if not alarming...
true enough to instil haste in our present and future deals...

The Technological Gap between PAF & IAF is only going to decrease in the coming years. The IAF has enjoyed the peak superiority over PAF in the last decade. PAF has every plan to counter your up coming inductions be it MMRCA or PAK-FA. By the 2018 we will be hearing more baby cry from the other side of the border. And it will only increase with the passage of time.

And those blinds who think that Pakistan was always an aggressor in the past conflicts. I would say to them, keep living in the fools paradise.

The one who enters the country is not only the one is called aggressor... but the one who starts the war is considered the biggest aggressor...

36 Pages on a PAKISTANI defense forum about what an Indian analyst said about Indian preparedness and you think Indians are crying ;)

.
No one from the Pakistani side is crying.

Out of those 36 pages the Pakistani members are amused and understand the Indian Analysts statements for what it is i.e. "gimme more and as quickly as possible".

But for some of the Indian memebrs seems like a rude awakening. But it shouldn't really. Nothing has dramatically changed overnight and nothing will change overnight.

IAF's edge in numbers and in quality of material assets will remain for some time. That in my opinion has never been the point of argument.

So lets all view this in it's proper perspective.

no bro ur media is full of crap from 100 99% of journalists love to exaggerate facts.

I never understand why India wants to buy some 4th Gen jets, when its considered 5 years old technology in the MMRC.

We should offer America some promises in order to get F-35 of them sooner rather then later.

The one who enters the country is not only the one is called aggressor... but the one who starts the war is considered the biggest aggressor...

the term war, has become so loose --- if your goverment wants a battle , all they need is to blast a place in india and point there fingers to pak, and then start the battle.

in pak, there is a blast every day, eventhough with proof of the training, funding and weaponization done by india, pak army isnt initiating an attack

peoples' ''life'' of other nationalities is sacred and of highest importance---- but our people are dying everyother day , and have provided the greatest sacrifices in wot--- still all the foriegn media treat human life in pakistan as cannon fodder --- where is the humanity gone from the media of these so-called massive civilzations

Seriously? Must I post the 'Pakistan is about to attack us!', 'Pakistan is using the kala pathar to practice how to injure Sachin!', 'Pakistan has tweaked the harpoon into a sea to ground missile!', 'all Pakistan thinks about is the destruction of India!', etc. videos????

iaf pilots have always been as good as paf pilots its only that the russian technology was not as reliable as the american technology which pakistan had in 65,71
and the thing that iaf losing edge over paf is just a referance to the quantitative aspect

Pakistan fought with Chinese technology which was about the same or even less reliable than Russian hardware. It was pilot training and the motivation that saw us pitching F-6s and Sabres against Mig-21s. The same Russian hardware (including Mig-21s) that you refer to as unreliable, shot down USAF and USN F-4s in air combat over Vietnam.

I do not want to take anything away from the IAF pilots, I am sure they are good for the task on hand, but don't put up hardware as an excuse. If anything, it has always been the PAF that has been handicapped by hardware. During the 65 war, we were sanctioned, whereas you had uninterrupted supply of spares from the Soviets. The Sabre was more than well matched by the Hunters flown by the IAF. You had about the same number of Mig-21s as the F-104s on the PAF side (10-12). Quality of aircraft, despite common Indian perception, was the same across the two Air Forces.

Lastly, I am well aware of the reference here that you are alluding to. I guess the bottom line is that PAF are confident in their capabilities and this confidence does not arise simply because quantitatively we have reduced the gap. PAF has never taken comfort in the possibility that in times of war the IAF would stick to its self-imposed constraint of maintaining certain force levels against China thus sparing Pakistan from the threat of the entire IAF fleet. The reality is that in case of a war, IAF would be arrayed against the PAF with a token force left out as a defensive posture against a Chinese threat (which will never emerge since Chinese do not fight wars for others). The rest, comprising 90% of the IAF fleet, would be deployed against Pakistan and this is the threat that the PAF has to plan and cater to. In the end it is about making do with what little we have and training the crews hard with it.

And what are those plans my dear friend????

280 – Su-30 MKI - Air superiority fighter. (IAF wants 50 more Sukhois to counter China, Pakistan - Times Of India)
126 – MMRCA – Air superiority fighter.
69 – Mig-29 SMT (upgraded) - Air superiority fighter.
51 – Mirage 2000-5 (upgraded) – Multi-role fighter.
100 – Jaguar IS (upgraded) - fighter bomber & Maritime air support.
100/120 - HAL Tejas – Multi-role fighter.

MORE THAN 700 fighters/attack aircrafts most of which are at least 4.5-Gen tech or upgraded to that level...........and only confirmed/real numbers; no wishful thinking.

Can you elaborate PAF's 2020 fighters/attack aircraft strength plz...:)

And those blinds who think that Pakistan was always an aggressor in the past conflicts. I would say to them, keep living in the fools paradise.

Who cares who attacked or who defended...............what really matters is the outcome.................you know what I mean; don't you???

:smokin:

vs.

F-16 MR (~60)
JF-17 MR (~250)
FC-20 MR (~40)

Anything around 350 gives the PAF a ratio that they can operate with against the IAF. Secondly with all the focus on having MR platforms replace dedicated platforms, the PAF can provide much greater support to the PA in case of a future conflict than it has in any other past wars.

In the end, the ratio does not really change much which goes to my earlier point that none of what is going on will change the situation wrt numbers between the two sides much. The key difference is who is able to run the force leaner and get more out of it. For that the jury is out.

Who cares who attacked or who defended...............what really matters is the outcome.................you know what I mean; don't you???

What was the outcome? It was inconclusive as always in 71, in 65 we more than held our own against the IAF.

Also I find it amusing that you still use the term "air superiority fighter" when every single aircraft on the market currently not only performs in AS but also tries to offer MR capabilities.

Was it inconclusive inn 1971 ? The internet says a different tale.
