What's new

IAF dispatched Sukhoi-30MKI to deliver liver and kidney.

I think an exception can be made on occasions, and this is probably one. Much better than brigedier 'touring' vaisno devi temple with his family on army helicoptor.

How long can these two vital organs be preserved before transplanted? Could they have used a commercial flight?

ask @halupridol ... am feeling happy because two precious lives saved...

Air Ambulances also save lives unless you think dump trucks are a better option.

what is your point??? if you can't appreciate the job done by IAF... don't post... it's our jets.. you are not tax payer..

Well thats possible the strangest way of transporting an organ

Speed is of the essence in these things. In kerala special blockading of traffic was done to make sure that the transport fo organs was done in time. Look at this guy...head of Northropp Grumman lent his private jet for transporting his brother for a liver transplant and the guy still gets emotional about it

Any idea how big was the container and what about the chilling requirement?

Where was the container kept?

I dont see any wrong in transporting organs using airforce. It is a irony a machine built and prepared for death and destruction has been used to save life. Every nation has military and spends a lot of money maintain it. If the same money is spent for more critical purpose like saving life , yes that country is progressing a ahead. Citizens of that country are lucky.

Of course military will lose professionalism when they get into servicing ppl or other non core areas. But by building a huge military in the sub continent we have already lost the sanity or civility to uplift the downtrodden.

I was going to ask the same question. I take it was the normal size i.e. hand held and would be put in the back seat?

Instead they should guard our borders and let medical facilities and ambulances handle this type of task
