JAISALMER: The Indian Air Force (IAF) for the past few days has been destroying expired arms and ammunition at Pokharan field firing range in Chandan area. expired or remained unexploded during military exercise.
Col S D Goswami, defence spokesperson said, "It's a routine exercise. It takes place every year to destroy ammunitions which cannot be used by the defence personnel."
It is reported that these ammunition are collected from all military areas that come under South Western Air Command region.
Some of the ammunition destroyed here were from fighter aircraft, Goswami said.
Sources said that arms and ammunition
are of different shapes and sizes. IAF has called their experts to carry out this operation under surveillance.
