I want to visit pakistan

I understand security conditions in past few years may not be conducive but is there back-packing culture in Pakistan? Not referring to the foreigners alone but even locals?

If yes, How expensive is stay of couple of months in Pakistan is - considering strictly budget backpackers who wouldn't mind spending the night under the stars or in their car when needed.

Its getting really popular among the middle class; you'll see tours and ads on almost every developed city.

Which is not enough to even stay in Lahore for a week (even if you are tavelling from Delhi).



Foreigners (including Indians) aren't ripped off in Pak .. Infact ppl tend to go out of their to help them.. Offering free food,rides etc.. Pak is known for hospitality for a reason.

Yes.. I've seen families on bikes riding as far as Pak-Chin border .. A lot of foreigners still come .. Thousands if not millions ..

You can rent a "charpoy" for 20 RS or get a presidential suite for 2 lakh.. Depends on your budget...

You can ride a local bus for 200 RS... Or use services like daewoo,Faisal movers etc for 700 ..

You can get a rickshaw was 150 or rent a car or SUV for 5000? Or get those 1 km - 20 RS cabs...

Or you can hitch a ride with truckers or random ppl (if you are lucky/woman or a foreigner --- Coz nobody with family will give a ride to a single young guy).

Few of my French friends are coming to India on year long unpaid sabbatical and had asked me about neighboring countries hence was just trying to gather some opinions.

I want to visit Pakistan..I want to see places like harappa and mohenjedaro (My ancestors place ),gilgit,kpk,beautiful mountains and meadows..I also want to experience the culture there and taste different kinds of non veg food...if I have INR 20,000 in my hand, I suppose I can spend a week there.but what is the procedure I have to go through?

Aside from the fact that if you have not travelled solo, you should go to North India first to get a feeler of what to expect in Pakistan.

Secondly, have you considered that as a solo Indian and particularly as a non-Muslim traveller, it could get really dangerous for you in Pakistan.

He can easily travel on INR 25k for a week in Pakistan. Have you heard of backpackers?

This is about 40-45K Pakistani rupees. It would be more than a backpackers budget by a fair margin and easy to travel in that amount. I would say if backpacking the amount would last him 3 weeks not just one.

Sorry We don`t have such cultures of harming tourists in Pakistan.That may be your`s but not ours.We are very welcoming to foreign tourists.........People would do out of their own to help tourists cuz we are Mehmaan Nawaz

The difference is almost all historians agree that dravidians were the original builders of IVC where as no one believes that a Pakistani could have roman ancestors.
