No it is not the word Pathan means daughter stealer. The correct word is Pashtun / Pakhtun and they are not Afghan.

Afghan have farisban, Uzbek, hazarey, Pashtun among others. So to say fear of Afghans in general is a fear of Pashtun is false.

What i understand by reading comments here is that even after more than 60 years of existence, we are still not sure about who we are... maybe in 200 years we will forgot punjabi, sindhi pushtun, pathan etc... and start to talk only as Pakistanis.

French people also went trough this path... it took them long and bloody periode before being able to speak about french and France... I hope one day we will talk only as Pakistani without the bloody part.
