What's new

I need a new Flat-screen T.V. Which brand should I buy? I was thinking Chinese brand Hisense

Panasonic is still Japanese

This is Panasonic Japanese TV

This is Chinese tv rebranded as Panasonic for the lower income household market for export only .

Note the price difference . Panasonic just taking advantage of cheap materials and cost in China but strictly not for sale in Japan .

Lz2000 has been released for a while now here in UK

£2000 is the best price if your lucky
Fantastic Tv .
Panasonic TV brand and business have been acquired by Chinese companies. All Panasonic televisions are products of Chinese companies.

But according to the tradition of Chinese companies, goods of different quality will be sold to different markets. Of course, their prices are also different.

Toshiba, Panasonic and other TV brands already belong to China. Hisense is also about to acquire Sony TV business. If you don't want a TV made in China, you can only buy Korean brands such as Samsung and LG. However, most of these brands are incompatible with China's smart home control systems. This is likely to cause trouble for your future use.

Aren't LG and Samsung TVs made in China too though?
But in reality, I think they are made by a bunch of different techs, the OLED screens are korean, the image processing is japanese, the materials are chinese, etc.
Anyway, I can vouch for Sony and Panasonic TVs for their quality.

And nah, I don't have a smart home yet, I'm fine with a good TV with good image quality.

I was thinking of getting a Chinese brand, since Chinese products have matured greatly since 2000.
Also China is a friend of Pakistan, so I see nothing wrong with Pakistanis wanting to buy Chinese brands and products.

You will definitely use the smart home control system in the future. You'd better make preparations in advance.

Samsung and LG televisions are also manufactured by Chinese factories, but they are not Chinese brands.

As far as I know, LG has not developed smart home control systems, and Samsung's smart home control systems are also developing at a very low speed. The alliance of Chinese household appliance enterprises is unlikely to accept Korean enterprises.

I don't know what China buy but China cannot buy Panasonic, it's a Public owned company listed on both TKO and NYSE, China can buy stock and own stock of Panasonic and become majority share holder, but you cannot buy Panasonic outright, because to do so, you will need all the stock Panasonic had issued. .

When I have a smart home, I will be buying new TVs anyway so no worry.

TCL did not acquire Panasonic Group. TCL acquired the television business of Panasonic.

Panasonic Television Co., Ltd. belongs to China TCL Group, Panasonic Semiconductor Co., Ltd. belongs to China Xintang Group, Panasonic Sanyo Motor Co., Ltd. belongs to China Haier Group, Panasonic Washing Machine Co., Ltd. belongs to China Yunshi Group, etc.

However, other Panasonic products do not belong to China, although I do not know what Panasonic has not sold.

That mean TCL acquired a "Subsidiary" of Panasonic.

That does not mean TCL own Panasonic "Brand" tho. Which is what you said.

It's like most people here said Geely own Volvo, when in reality Geely own Volvo Car, a subsidiary of Volvo, That's not the same.

Also, Panasonic also sell Camera, Refrigerator, DVD Home Entertainment, Head Phones, White Goods and so on.

Why you need a smart home when Google Nest do everything for you?

Does Google make home appliances? China Household Appliance Enterprise Alliance will not let Google join.

As far as I know, Google has indeed developed a smart home system, but this system can only control one kind of household appliances, the Google sweeping robot.

You do know what google do, right? Anything connected to internet or wifi can and will run thru andriod, Google don't need to be able to hard connect to any home applicance. You only need to connect the things to internet.

My Google Nest Hub can control my TV (a Samsung Series 8 connected to WIfi) my Radio, my phone (duh), my light switch, my alarm, my streaming service, my heater/air-conditioning. Even my kettle and my fringe. Because all of them have Wifi_ Connectivity.

I can get a Wifi Thermostate and put it on Google Nest (but why would I? My Air Conditioner already online) and I can get a Google Nest doorbell or any wifi-capable doorbell and I can have google nest control it.

Well,my wife yelled at me when I get this

Saying it is overkill, but now she is the one too lazy to even get out of bed and switch off the light, who's laughing now...haha

BingShan Group acquired Panasonic's refrigerator business. Haier Group acquired Panasonic's air conditioning business. Panasonic's home appliance business should have sold out.

Don't you understand?

China's home appliance enterprise alliance only allows their brand to be compatible with the smart home control system of the alliance brand. They will not make their products compatible with Google's smart home control system.

Google has no product support. How do you develop your system?

dude, Panasonic don't just make white goods. And in fact, I am inclined to believe ALL of Panasonic white goods division were sold to China, because they aren't making money for Panasonic, the corporation. Why would they? They are't the best in that business, I wouldn't buy a Panasonic TV if I want Quality, I will get Samsung or Sony (I don't trust LG for some reason) or I won't buy a Panasonic Camera, I will get Canon, I will most likely buy a Westinghouse fringe (which is what I use) instead of a panasonic fringe, I will most likely get a LG washing machine instead of Panasonic Washing Machine.

Again, even so, that does not mean China own Panasonic as a Brand even if China brought all of Panasonic white goods divison, that does not mean China own the brand of Panasonic like you said.
