Tides re quite predictable. Several sites are known to be good choices for tide-based power generation, including the Bay of Fundy:

I never said they are not predictable...ALL I am saying is even if we predicted it will hit on site B....and our plant is on site A....what do we do then?
Because shoreline is dynamic due to erosion and hence, the POINT where the tide hits changes a bit...I am not talking about whether or not we can predict where it will hit but wherever it hits is not always the same point!!
There is an Israeli (i think) company which has patent for putting in microturbines in a normal water pipeline. Just check whether they hold the patent for the process or for the product. cause, if its in a sewer pipeline and they have defined the process, there can be a patent problem.
That is the BIGGEST HEADACHE Western people give the poor...Develop things to be used by the poor YET patent it so the poor cant use it due to the high costs or charges!
