Hyderabad blasts case cracked, Yasin Bhatkal of IM planted bombs: NIA

Rahul Tripathi : New Delhi |*Thu Apr 18 2013, 09:12 hrs*A***AThe NIA on Wednesday claimed to have cracked the February 21 twin blasts in Hyderabad, identifying Indian Mujahideen (IM) leader Yasin Bhatkal as one of the persons who planted the bombs.Citing CCTV footage as its main evidence, the NIA has claimed that Yasin Bhatkal is seen with a bag in his hand, which he reportedly planted near the bus stand in Dilsukhnagar. The second bomb on a bicycle nearby is reported to have been planted by Asadullah Akhtar alias Haddi, a resident of Azamgarh who is absconding since 2008.The agency has informed the Home Ministry that it has “strong leads and evidence” to suggest that the twin blasts, which killed 18 people, were carried out by the IM. “The IM’s hand is clear in the blasts, but the perpetrators are yet to be caught,” confirmed a Home Ministry official. The NIA probe team has cited instructions given by Riyaz Bhatkal to Imran Khan and Syed Maqbool, who are reported to have conducted a recce of some areas in Hyderabad in August last year. According to the NIA, while Syed Maqbool, Imran Khan and Obaid-ur-Rehman conducted the recce, a group led by Yasin Bhatkal and Assadullah Akhtar planted the bombs on the instructions of Riyaz Bhatkal and Iqbal Bhatkal.Imran Khan, Syed Maqbool and Obaid-ur-Rehman were arrested in October last year in different cases. Following the arrest of Syed Maqbool and Imran Khan, the Delhi police had informed their counterparts in Andhra Pradesh that the duo had conducted a recce of Dilsukhnagar, Abids and Begum Bazaar in Hyderabad for a possible attack. Based on this information, the NIA had sought custody of all the three suspects. The NIA had recently announced rewards of Rs 10 lakh each on the top IM leadership, including the Bhatkal brothers, Asadullah Akhtar, Amir Reza Khan and Dr Shahnawaz Alam. Asadullah Akhtar is believed to be part of the IM’s inner circle, along with others from Azamgarh like Ariz Khan, Mohd Sajid, Dr Shahnawaz Alam, Mohd Khalid and Mirza Shadaab Baig.Investigators believe the same group of suspects were responsible for the 13/7 attacks in Mumbai. Beside Yasin Bhatkal, the Mumbai police had identified two suspects — Waqas alias Tabrez and Danial — as the ones who stayed in a rented accommodation months before the blasts.

I have heard the FBI are very impressed by the work done by the NIA. Seems the MHA has pulled off quite a coup in setting up the NIA and have given them the requisite resources and expertise to enable them to be effective and successful.

How come the case is cracked when they cant arrest him

No need to laugh on the death of innocents, the case crack headline is from the media not from the agencies.

And if they have identified the culprit then it can be called creaked because the point is to identify the culprit then only one can arrest him/her.

Didn't they say that the Bhatkal brothers were in Pakistan? :what: But then they say that they were the ones who planted those bombs in Hyderabad!! Hmmm....They must have come in a UFO having Klingon cloaking technology!!!

The only guys I am laughing at are the Intel agencies . It was a foregone conclusion as to who carried out the blasts, this guy has been around for 5+ years, murdered around 300+ in multiple blasts and they have still not been able to nab him, doesnt that reek of incompetence?? So how is the case cracked?

2 of 3 brothers are in Pakistan while the youngest one is roaming around inIndia, carrying out blasts at will while the agencies sleep.

Every reputed international media reported it. Howeve, what is the point you are trying to make? Are you suggesting that the lives of people who died are only important if the international media reports it? Such pathetic inferiority complex and lack of self esteem, to constantly seek attention from other countries. Our people's lives are valuable no matter who reports and who doesn't.

And it so happens that the international media did report it. You should have googled, before asserting.

Any links or sources to back up such claims? Why would the FBI be impressed?

I propose Kashmir, Hyderbad, Calicut, UP and parts of Assam/West Bengal be completely monitored with state of the art Video cameras

This seems to be one of the few cases when I have seen a investigative agency coming out with solid accusation within months!

Great going  Proud, Hyderabadi!
