Discrimination and mistreatment of minorities, especially Muslims, in India have become order of the day. To suppress the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, India is using brute force and has embarked on a killing spree of Kashmiris. On Wednesday, they martyred 4 Kashmiris, including 3 teenagers and injured scores. In a most despicable act, the Indian occupation forces even opened live ammunition fire on those offering funeral prayers of the martyred. This killing and injuries to the Kashmiris is in addition to over 150 they have killed since 8 July and over 20,000 they injured.

Kashmir is passing through an unprecedented aggression by Indian occupation forces. Indian government has failed to read the word written on the wall and has ignored sentiments of Kashmiri people. Since July last year, there is a paradigm shift in Kashmir. Kashmiris have decided not to bear aggression by Indian forces anymore. It is not possible to ignore the demands of Kashmiri people. UP is not whole India. There are parties and groups in India who oppose BJP. India is passing through transition and many educated Hindus are unemployed. BJP will not be able to convert India towards Hindutva.

Fact of the matter is that Kashmiris are fighting against India and with the silent international community at the same time. India is continuously destroying the life style of Kashmiris and humiliating them. India does not deserve to be called a democracy. No international community and journalists are allowed by India to go to Kashmir. Youth in Kashmir is resilient against Indian forces and it will enhance their capacity to fight. The movement in Kashmir is indigenous. A comprehensive approach is needed to disseminate what is happening in Kashmir. The kind of weapons being used and the way people are confined to their homes need to be highlighted.
