Huge Projects of Türkiye

trust me bro... i am a happy amatuer on this site, but my profession civil engineering. That is an architects fantasy. Very common to start of an idea like this. The drawings are gonna get revised quite a few turn amongs all the specialist involved and the commisioner gets a final saying when he understands the true costs with this design. And commisioners usually act slowly, hence making the process more expensive and time/energy consuming. The best thing is to be sober and a have proffesional commisioner.

Can we drop this ignisificant tower... it is truly is off topic.

I personally think that kanal Istanbul is a stroke of genius. We need a new city beacuse of different reasons. I am sure one of those reasons is the big quake. Say this heavy heart, but old istanbul is gonna suffer major damage when it happens.

I don't trust you bro

and I can't take anyone seirously who says that kanal istanbul is a "stroke of genius" We already have "kentsel dönüşüm" in the "old istanbul" and shitloads of residential buildings are already being rebuilt.

you're willing to spend 10 fucking billion dollars for a canal just expand the city around it...
that's the price of 4 topaz solar farms. Topaz Solar Farm - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kanal Istanbul will probably cost a whole lot more if u consider the whole project and sourroundings. But it is gonna be even more expensive to not build the kanal. Sure u can rebuild the old istanbul, but too late too little bro. Sometimes u have to let go of idelogy and other stuff slowing u and be sober. Perhaps u shoould see it as an investment instead?

I am also delighted too see turkey invest in renewable energy. We need a lot more of that too. Dont get me started, and dont want to turn this to a chat. good night

investment on what? geopolitics have changed, in future it's more likely for Turkey to try to block the bosphorus rather than opening new ways through it. The canal itself is utterly useless, who'd prefer a paid canal over the one that's free of charge and is enforced to be so by the montreux convention

too late too little? have you been to Istanbul lately?

They also said "who'd prefer TEM instead of using E-5 for free" years ago! Now TEM is busy as much as E-5.

Who wants free but slow pass will use Bosphorus, others will use new channel.

that's not the same thing

slow pass? you think canal will be FAST?

The amount of time it takes you to cross the bosphorus is about a blink of an eye for maritime standards as dense as the traffic may be

We can't close the pass but we can slow it down using bureaucrotic barriers. And actually we have to do it because it's gem of İstanbul and Turkey and many dangerous vessels use it! So that's what will be happened in Bosphorus, if they want to use faster way, they will have to use channel.

that's really dumb

You're just dumping 10 billion dollars on a project that's not needed and afterwards going through lengths and big efforts to make it needed.

We should spend that money on photovoltaic fields instead. If India can build the biggest solar power field in the world so can we.

Yes, we should and I'm sure we will, but solar energy technology must be more efficient before to start investing.

About Kanal project, let's wait and see if it's dumb or not.

NO

I'm still paying %120 taxes on gas prices I'm not gonna "wait and see" while 10 fucking billion dollars of my tax money goes to waste

Photo-voltaic and Wind Power as they are , are out-to date. New plants are only constructed to refinance completely the invests in solar and wind industry. This technology will only stay feasible if you can store the regenerative energy with Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC) network stores. If the refinance and amortization of Solar and Wind Energy is completed the Industry Nations will change to Fusion Energy Plants.BTW the oil industry and political interests block also the wide use of Hydrogen as fuel, technical it is possible.

Guys Why you think this Channal is a bad investment? For example the suez Channal of egypt gets aloth of money Each year, iTS not for Free to pass a Channal.. And strategecly a good place to put a Channal to block aan invading army from THE west and also THE Bosporus Will be cleaned over years Because iTS soiled.. And THE citys that are going to be build around it Will have a big influence to THE economie of Istanbul.. One more point.. Istanbul is to crowded iF THE project Will finish THE population Will be spread and that is very importent for this city.. If we dont build this Channal we Will have inviromental problems over 10 years...

are you fucking serious? please tell me you're not serious

Suez doesn't have a natural bosphorus that is enforced by international laws and agreements to be free of passage right next to it.

You can't divert bosphorus traffic to the canal, Turkey has no such authority can't you understand?

New Istanbul should be a eco-city, if execution in creating of the city is half-hearted and the "investment" is not gonna pay off and we have a bigger problem in our hands by then. We have serious enviromental issues in turkey alreday. No time to wait. And this not my eco-side saying this, it self-preservation. I am sure the authorothies had good reasons to do this.

I was in a couple of years ago in Istanbul. Visit my country regurlarly. The over-all building techniqe in turkey is stone-age.

I am sure closing the kanal or bospshourous isn't even in the calculation for this investment. Bruh' please stop insulting when having a dialog. We are not debating.

sorry I didn't mean to offend your fragile feelings

I'm not convinced that this project has anything to do with ecology. Do you have anything to back that up?

Because all other projects was about cutting down the northern forests of Istanbul.
a few bird species are about to go completely extinct due to the third airport construction.
and Terkos lake is at risk
that's serious shit.
