See, the Chinese inducted the tor but never the pantsir wonder why. But also the pantsir has the ability to intercept the atgm or even the arm.

you must remember, panstir is only an low level air defense. It cannot do the 2 level
Defense of Tor. Why would you wanti complicate the logistic?

The Russian sams were built in the Soviet era as multi coverage umbrellas. The Chinese have license production of the full spectrum of the missiles. Only made sense. Why the Chinese didn't develop new missiles, IDK, but atleast they have a way to fight America's planes, but expensive.
Its always interesting to note that India purchased the S-300 in small numbers but fell back on Barak 8 with Israel instead.

China has the abilities to upgrade the radar and system of Russian air defense to a much advance level. While India too are not satisfy with Russian system decide to go for a proven Israel system to meet future threat.

Logistics? its already complicated. That isn't the reason why they ignored the panstir.

Major change is said to be AESA radar which makes it more potent system then Russian one.

Barak 8 is a new system. This is most likily due to costs. The Barak 8 covers more ranges and threats and is a NEW development compared to HH-9 etc.
