read my post carefully again I said big a$s white elephant type weapons, not small scale weapons.

There's 1.4 million men (just in the Army) costing 10's of billions to maintain..the biggest "weapons" cost by far... and each can be taken out on the battlefield with a bullet that costs a few pennies.

The solution is to automate them as much as we can by building weapons that can do the job that in the past required multiple men.

Americans are making the same mistake that Germans made during world war 2. They were making big @ss weapons hence draining their limited resources to these direct to the museum weapon systems.
In the modern world, weapons must be cost-effective, cheaper to produce in bulk and maintained also they must not be a white elephant which can be easily killed by a modern cheap missile system.
