how PIA pilots+maintenance finished ATR-42 fleet

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) inked an agreement with ATR for the purchase of seven new ATR 42-500 aircraft on November 2, 2005 at PIA Head Office. The agreement was signed by Mr Tariq Kirmani, Chairman and CEO of PIA and Mr Filippo Bagnato, CEO of ATR in the presence of the General Consuls of France and Italy.

The aircraft were to replace PIA’s aging F-27 aircraft fleet operated on socio-economic routes. The 7 firm 48-seat ATR 42-500 aircraft were delivered between 2006 and 2007 with delivery of the first aircraft to PIA in May 2006.

AP-BKW A Pakistan International Airlines ATR 72 registration AP-BKW has collided with a Shaheen Air International’s grounded Boeing 737-400. The incident resulted in the damage to PIA aircraft’s fuel tank and engine. PIA engineering was conducting engine runs when the plane moved from its position and hit the Boeing 737 that was parked from past many years.wrriten off from service

AP-BHN aircraft was cannibalized as spare parts source for other sister ships and now its economically unsuitable to buy parts and bring it back in service . the amount of spareparts airline can buy another ATR . written off from service.

We have become a very dangerous society as far a public sector are concerned. We have mercilessly screwed up institutions like PIA, STEEL MILLS and any other damn thing under under Govt. enterprise.

That's is why everything should be privatized! Bhutto under his socialism and communist tendencies nationalized a lot of the industries and now we suffer from its consequences!
 
Pia was unfixable by domestic efforts as too much political and Judicial backing.
Supreme court disabled CEO Arshad Malik when he tried to get rid of fake degree staff.
Now I am glad PIA is getting banned internationally and may be international pressure will fix the institution.
Bro table is other way around and it is due to Arshad Malik PIA now in crisis. (Now I am glad PIA is getting banned internationally) it is due safety of plane not in guideline with Europe and US (Since 2016 or 2017 they are asking to uplift safety standard of plane and they are getting warning letters for them and no one address the problem and they only getting extension of date for six months for many time and now finally EU stop that extension and it is nothing to do with pilots license case. Please do verified my statement on my request to confirm the real picture. Currently they are trying to make it political issue but real picture is not like that. Even for pilot issue they are lying to the public and even figures are not correct.

what if i told you my PIA friends told me personally jab se ye air marshal aya hai saaly ne danda de rakha hai .

Public sector is nothing but charity being distributed among the undeserving. Those working in said sector simply don't want to work while sucking on tax payer's teat. If Bhutto didn't mess things up with his nationalization drive, people of Pakistan would now be honest and dynamic work force.
 
Civil aviation must be abolished and a new professional institution must be raised. Which does not compromise on anything in regards to aviation. After that all old pilots should pass through a new exam. That’s the only way forward. To hell with PIA to hell with its piece of shyt disrespectful cabin crew.
 
my advice to you do not book the flight on PIA ATRs better go to road trip or pay a bit more are fly near by city with any other aircraft

for example i fly dozens of times ATRs of PIA but now i book flight to and from multan and use A320 rather then atr flight from rahim yar khan/bahawalpur airports . its your life think before confirming flight check the equipment . i fly my family to serene air recently as they have new 737-800 aircraft hence more safe . in our country everyone must be careful while booking flights .

they are private they care business .services are not great but still better then PIA also fleet maintenance is well and mostly done in turkey and UAE USA FRANCE . they care their fleet A-CHECK D-CHECK done on time and return aircraft in service as per schedule . never heard they ground fleet for week let alone months and years like PIA . private companies do care their property business and money and time this is how they work sir . do you think they will hire people like PIA which work as per their wish ? PIA is something else and private companies are totally different story .

What if told you that my friend who was working and recently retired few month back in CAA give me clear picture of everything and told me that they are playing politics and nothing else + The report of pilots issued from IT department, which is not authorized to generate reports. All of these issues was cleared in year 2018 and they only identified 56 cases and out of which only 28 found to be fishy cases but till commercial license, they all are correct and only problem came is Captain license. Concerned people didn't take action on this issue since 2018. Now question is why they didn't asked authorized department for the report?. Why still we didn't have official statement from CAA about this issue? why they didn't take actions on those 56 and cleared the issue in 2018?

PIA will be in loss no matter what you do even if you park all aircraft and close doors still PIA have to pay loans interest every day .

Even we close PIA, PIA loans can be easily paid by golden goose (Roosevelt Hotel), but problem is they want to kill it (selling this property) to get rich in one time.
 
If you maintain your Asset with Engineering and new part refreshment every few years you can extend the life of the Asset to even 20 years

  • I think the planes over shooting the runway has to do with fake pilot license they guessed the conditions wrong
  • The other parts related crashes are more to do with engineering and lack of parts


It is a Human Resources issue , and Parts availability
