it usually a first step... then assuming adequate investigations are done then termination followed up civil liabilities in courts.. the third step is pain even in developed countries.

Covid 19 was best timing I guess. Bcz they had enough time since ALL airlines are mostly grounded.

Good point. The lack of active operations for PIA means that staff that are not qualified, or are political appointees can be removed quickly without letting them affect PIA aircraft safety..
