Open to interpretation.. Indian sub continent is basically the landmass that is greater India, Bangladesh,Nepal and parts of Pakistan.. The rest is included in the term South Asia.. The term Sub continent by it's very meaning excludes Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Which are islands not continental land mass

Yes I agree and this is what my whole point is. The author of the original post himself said that it is called by different names which leave no scope of discussion in this post at-least which is more into political aspect rather than physical aspect of the Indian Subcontinent land mass.

But still to reply, If you do Google and do some research, majority of the articles clearly indicates India , Pakistan and Bangladesh as three main entities of the subcontinent. You can debate on whether whole Pakistan or some section of Pakistan being part of sub-continent which may be valid. But that does not mean there is no entity called Indian Sub-continent. It is there whether someone likes it or not.
