What's new

How do indian muslims see pakistan.

Exactly, that is why i mentioned above that their perspective towrds india might've changed ten folds under modi, that is why i started this thread...
Which is again applicable to both Hindus and muslims and also there will be some affiliation change from earlier against Modi to in favour of Modi also.

Muslims in Southern parts of India are generally more well off than those in the northern parts mainly because of higher education levels in the South. The lack of education is more predominant in certain pockets such as Bihar and parts of UP where the population in general is backward and low on literacy. Another factor has been the flow of easy gulf money to muslim families in certain areas which leads them into a false economic security and ignoring the importance of education for their children.

There are social problems including communal flareups once in a while but that is rare and is unavoidable in a diverse country like India. However, there is no prosecution of muslims or for that matter any sect in India similar to what Ahmedis face in Pakistan.

As far as the opportunities in the country are concerned, there is hardly any bias on the basis of religion either in education or in employment. In all these years having been through some of the best educational institutes in India and worked for large private sector organizations, I have never felt any discrimination ever so far.

Finally on the thread topic about Indian muslim views about Pakistan-

The educated and well off Muslims - neutral to negative views
The middle class well educated Muslims- neutral to negative views
The lower class uneducated muslims - daily problems of thier own- don't care about Pakistan

Muslims living in areas prone to communal flareups and violence - neutral, few negatives and some positives as well .The section of the population within these areas with a positive inclination towards Pakistan is not due to some brotherly love for the country but mainly due to the dissatisfaction against the social situation in their area or city. They blame it on the majority community and since their exists a perpetual hatred on the basis of religion, some of them feel an affinity towards Pakistanis being their coreligionist. They also believe the state is complicit in supporting the majority (true in certain cases - because of local politics, and this works both ways) and in some cases that also leads them towards anti state activities.

Yeah but at that point, I'm going to assert my right to free speech and invite him to do his worst even if I was a Khalistani. It's not a crime internationally to be a Khalistani as long as you don't do something illegal.

Sure, go ahead , at least you won't be all uptight about someone calling you a khalistaniit is not a crime to be a Khalistani in thought even in India ..only 'secessionist activities ' or "secessionist preaching " are deemed anti national and India will prevail over them in such a case

There is an ignore button, I recommend you use it.

I can ignore it or you , but those who have been roused or misled by the incendiary post will not , and therein lies the problem, in fact that's what makes it incendiary in the first place

I've been around many. I've noticed they are either neutral or support India. When push comes to shove, they almost always support India. Some (around 10-15%) virulently hate Pakistan. As if they can justify the fact that they live under Hindu rule by maligning Pakistan. My manager was a Gujarati Muslim who would take every chance to bad mouth Pakistan, even though our boss was Pakistani. Many stories like this

That's mostly what I noticed

I don't need any certificate of legitimacy about my statement from any fellow pakistani. If you can agree with me i appreciate, if you can't that's ok with me.

Now why i am right person to answer this question. I am from gujarat you heard it Right infamous state for riots. However my business partner is Muslim. And we own considerable size of businesses.

Now get back to main question, what indian muslim think about pakistan ? In simple words they don't think about pakistan at all. Yes you heard it Right. Don't think like pakistan is dream state of Indian muslim. Most of them love their motherland. That's what Holly Quran to do so. India is nowhere perfect state to be. We have 1.3 billion people or more. Still most of them live with Peace. You guys will see one sided view of what your meida shows you. Yes kashmir has issues expect it all india is quite peaceful. See it's hard to understand but inida is country with large population. You will find all type of people. Hindu who hates muslim, Hindu who loves muslim, Orthodox, liberal etc. Etc.
What is life of indian muslim is, yes they are not happy with status quo, and why they should be ? But they are not dreaming of pakistan. They want peace and harmony in their motherland which is India. They don't like bjp and rss not because they promote Hindutva. Yes it's people misconception that muslim don't like because their hindutva agenda. The issue is they have very poor experience in past with such one sided mentality they fear that they will be victim again. I don't blame them.
The thing you guys need to understand is, if India is such bad state as your media portrait, then how come we are growing with such fast economical growth? By 2050 we will be second or third largest economy in the world. Recent american research says first but modest opinion is second or third. I am not here saying in contest of proud for it but there is takeawaw in it. It's economical activity. Yes Hindu muslim sikh all are bound by economical relationship. Here in India people are more worried about growth of own then other things like religion etc. Etc. If we have second largest population of muslim and they are hostile to each other then why ? India isn't another Syria? Why we have peaceful perfect election where arvind kejriwal can win against bjp ? This is hard to digest for you guys but yes we have issues but Indian muslim never idolize pakistan as their dream state. I don't blame them for complaining because yes we have some issues.

This aspect is what I was talking about earlier , a fact that all Pakistanis get it wrong almost every time . There needs no justification of 'muslims ' living under A 'Hindu ' because the contrary is also several times true , 'Hindus' living under 'Muslims ' . It is basically an Indian nation and 'Indian rule ' not a Hindu or a Muslim rule , and at the core of it all, there are secular values that bind us , not Hindu or Islamic values
