How do I create friendship with a kitten that just came to my house to hunt the rats ?

Give it fresh clean water and a bit of mince meat.

Cats shouldn't be drinking milk past a certain age as they don't do so in wild. Don't know why people feed cats milk (& roti & whatnot) as it does more harm than good in long run.

@Sher Shah Awan 's advice is good.

Don't be scared of it. If the kitten gets bad 'vibes' from you, it'll avoid you.

As for 'friendship', each cat is different so don't fret over this. Cats are very picky animals.

Oh, they love a good long tickle under the chin.



Being a doctor, kindly shed some scientific evidence to substantiate the above statement. I have had cats since childhood (and a few dogs here and there) and cat is a far cleaner animal by a big margin, with far less diseases.

Disgusting has shades other than just simply personal hygiene.

It's a personal chemistry thing.

Some people are cat people. Many more are dog people. Some like you and Sher like both.

I get the creeps when they brush up against my legs with their tails ramrod straight up.

Just the other day one of them fell off the roof and was finished in seconds by my dogs (I have 5, plus we feed about 3-4 more who live further away in our compound).

There is a good reason why dogs don't like cats, fossil record reveals that many species of canines were driven to extinction by felines. It would only take a paw swipe from big cats such as leopard, lion or tiger to kill any large breed of canines.

there are two feral cats I feed once a while, they have come to expect it when they see me.. but they never have allowed me to pet them... the mutually agreed procedure is, I put the food/milk down and move back to safe position and they eat/drink if they like. Has not changed since 2016.
