How can laymen report undiscovered disease to medical fraternity & create awareness?

Where did I say I want to do clinical research? Nowhere did I say I wanted to do clinical research. I just thought researchers would be more competent than usual doctors. Since researchers would have higher IQ they would be able to notice subtle things and understand difficult concept. They would get the diagnosis right. Hence I wanted to contact researchers.

Now I have a problem. The symptoms really don't match with those of the diagnosed disease and I am suffering. The wrong diagnosis/misdiagnosis have created additional side problems. What do I do?
firstly i was giving you a birds eye view and told you what a layman can not do. i did write you while saying one can not do clinical research and i can now see why it didn't go well with you.
anyways... i am sorry to hear that you are talking about your own self. my take on whatever you are suffering from is same as i said earlier above.. see a specialist doctor (who should preferably be also a teacher / supervisor or working in a teaching hospital) from the field of concern. as per my experience i rarely opt for the most famous ones as they are too pompous and arrogant for my liking. See a few doctors and select the one who gives you enough time to listen to you and also gives you time to ask questions. One of the best minds i have met in medicine are usually the ones who make lousy money and have a very few patients coming to them.
hope this helps.
cheers

Tried all this many times and it failed. That's why I am asking suggestions on internet. I consulted doctors teaching and practicing in medical college as well as. I specifically consulted psychiatrist. Isn't this what you mean by specialist? Is there any different way for unconventional cases?

And can you throw light on points in post#5 (quoted below for reference)?

Corruption or ego is not the issue. I think it is because medicos aren’t trained to deal with such situation. When they were studying medical, they weren’t instructed on what to do if they come across anything unique/strange/unfamiliar. They see everything through the prism of known diseases. The culture of out-of-the-box thinking is not there. They simply dismiss the patient by citing some universal condition. Who would question them? Doctors are answerable to none. And since they cite a vague universal condition that afflicts everyone to some degrees, it is hard to argue with doctors.

I have tried to answer your post 5 in my 2 msgs before.
The openness to changed symptoms or something one is unknown about depends upon the qualification, practicing locality, position in the hospital / institution and type of the institution one is working in. It is wrong and kind of immature to pass generalize statements and compare apple with oranges or white sheeps with black sheeps.

When you ask this question to doctors, their reaction is, “What is your problem? Go to such and such specialists.” Meaning: Mind your business. Don’t worry whether the disease is undiscovered or not.

But umpteen numbers of doctors have got the diagnosis wrong and they are unwilling to clear valid doubts. The diagnosis is wrong because the symptoms don’t match. The diagnosis of mental conditions is correct when the patient is able to relate with the symptoms of diagnosed disease. He should feel, “Yes, the description of diagnosed disease is similar to my ordeal.”

But this isn’t happening nor are doctors accepting that they are dealing with undiscovered disease. This is dereliction of duty. Either they should get the diagnosis right or they should declare the case as undiscovered disease. They are doing neither.

When you demand explanation for the symptoms not matching with diagnosed disease, doctors have endless number of excuses to brush aside the question. Their refrain is, “We are professionals. We know better.” Some even ridicule the demand for diagnosis.

Further elaboration of reasons for searching clinical researchers will derail the topic. So coming to the point…

What is the specific way to contact clinical researchers in order to report undiscovered disease and publicize it? Whom to approach? Where, when and how to approach? Inquisitive scientists should jump on such opportunity of layman patients trying to reveal something. Researchers have so much to explore.

Don’t suggest asking doctors. Healthy functioning of patients is the last thing on a doctor’s mind. They are in a hurry to wash their hands off every patient.

To answer in a layman term an example...

Long time ago when chickungunya fever entered Delhi, many doctors are puzzled about the disease..

It's new for Delhi, but common in south
The doctors learnt about it after that episode..

So, if a doctor doesn't have an idea about a previously described disease, how can u see this scenario

To be honest not all the symptoms or signs are present in every person with the disease and in psychiatrical cases the diagnosis is hard there need to be at least 1-2 sessions before we can diagnosis. There are a lot of fb pages where you can tell your signs and symptoms and could get advice from couple of doctors but teaching hospitals are best place to get checked because there is a ginuine interest in odd cases both for the benefit of teacher and students hope I cleared some of your doubts

Well a lot of research into finding a new disease but if you have credible proof you can send it to your national medical journal or meet a reasearch fellow to pitch him the idea of the disease

Medicine is a complex topic, its sometimes difficult to get to the correct diagnosis and sometimes the cost of tests/scans is very high.
And a layman cannot be expected to stumble upon a new disease,no.

Misinterpretation is annoying. My intention never was to report undiscovered disease. I mind my own business. But the doctors are clueless, got the diagnosis wrong and created new problems. Thus doctors are forcing me to do all this.

And the ball is squarely in doctor’s/medical fraternity’s court. Not only should they guide on the procedure to contact and communicate to clinical researchers, the entire process should be facilitated by them. Research fellows are not accessible to common public, I think. What can laymen patients do on their own? Turn up at the gates of research institutions and say, “Let me in. I want to reveal something to scientists.”? The guards at the gate would unceremoniously drive the patient away!
