Under british there was no democracy until two years before it handed over, china had signed an agreedment of nothing will change for 50 years ,basicly what this mean is HK can continue to function just like what it used to function without fear of interference from mainland, so if they are not happy then they are not happy with decomocracy and the british system as simply as that.

It's the sign of the time and have nothing to do with the Brits. Pre 1997 people all over the world were doing good because all major stock markets were climbing near their peaks and oil price hover around $30. When 1999 came world markets tumble due to extreme high speculations many people lost their fortunes and their retirement fund as well. Thanks to the US invasions of Middle East pushed oil price above $140s and that alone broke world economies that still haven't recovered till today. EU is in the process of going down.....

People in Hong Kong suffered more than their counterparts in other major cities around the world because, you see, everyone including their grandmothers like to dabble in risky speculations. Most of them never recovered.

The fourth Knight Frank Global Cities Survey was recently published by Citi Private Bank, designed to monitor “city-level power shifts” by assessing global markets for investment opportunities and influence on business leaders worldwide.

The survey offered a list of the top 25 global cities of 2011, but also offered a number of other rankings — so many that we had to break them up into separate posts.

Below, the list predicting what would be the “world’s leading cities in 10 years’ time.”

A guy from my work just visited India. In his own words, India is such a backward, dirty and disgusting place that he would not want to go back there again. I would suggest that India should clean up its country first before invite people to come over. Just like if you have guests coming over, wouldn't you want a clean and tidy house to welcome the guest. Why welcome others with *****. That is just an insult to guests.
