Who is the sportsman out there ? The skipper can always decide to take his team off the ground if situations are hostile. That would have set things in order. Now people will question, was there any hostile crowd at all ? What was the degree of hostility ?

Yes thats correct, lets not be petty minded. If we dont want to play then this is not a good excuse. But of course we should not tolerate any bad behavior or un-sportsmanlike conduct by any team.

NEW DELHI: India has demanded an apology from Pakistani players over their celebration during the 2014 Champions trophy.

Hockey India (HI) President Narinder Batra said there could be no series against Pakistan until an apology was given.

During their Champions Trophy semi-final match against India in 2014, Pakistani players took off their jerseys in celebration. Two Pakistani players had been banned for one match by the International Hockey Federation for objectionable gestures during the celebration.

An apology was tendered to these actions. A ban was placed too by FIH though reluctantly. A sporting nation would then feel ashamed for the behaviour of its crowd. Are you? If the apology and ban on Pak team wasn't enough then it should have been made clear at that time. It wasn't. A sporting nation loves sport and the spirit of it. A not so sports nation looks to commercialised the sport. Make money from it. Brings politics into it. Tries to satisfy its ego. Holds sports hostage to its pettiness of ego and commercialism. Looks for excuses not to play while others look to play. I really don't think you will get it but your hockey players on that day did. They were real sportsmen and knew its spirit. They have all my respect. Your crowd, media and commercialised hockey officials? I'm sorry!

I am feeling so upset with this kind of statement from sports bodies of India...This is one of the most ridiculous and childish statement from a sports body of any matured nation...Come on man...It is a game and again when India and Pakistan plays, the emotion runs high....Are you postponing the Hockey event just because, some one did not apologize???

Hockey India and should grow up and think rationally..Do not follow all these things from cricket board..They are not going to Pakistan for their own stakes with other rich nations...Do not follow their path..HI is not BCCI that if you do not play with Pakistan, other major Hockey nation will come to us to play knowing well that how is our standing in the hockey ranking...

Somehow i am getting the feeling that all these vibes are just getting ridiculous day by day...Being anti Pakistani in political front is one thing...Do not use this anti Pakistan sentiment too much for something else...Now what next, India will say that We do not allow Pakistan team just because, Pakistan team did not cheer us althouh Pakistan lost the game...Is it the kind of expectation that we are going to expect from other nations...??
