Historic!! India tests world's first fully 3D Printed Engine!

Rocket science is easy. Americans are doing it as a hobby. Real challenge would be designing heavy cryogenic engine .Than isro has real competition.
But this firm should be applauded and financed to make it a success.

Our biggest problem is that most of the government money is spent on useless and ineffectively-designed public "welfare" schemes instead of future technologies. This is because politicians want to make money and stick to their chairs.

Sadly, the government cannot take a hard political stance due to the democratic setup. We have excellent ideas and projects in our institutions but that requires industrial funding.

Only in the last 10 years, our tycoons have shown any interest in tech industry development, whether it is in contract manufacturing, heavy engineering, designing or related stuff. Until then, most Indian tycoons were busy arranging million-dollar weddings for their children at old forts and expanding into the overcrowded FMCG markets.

ISRO does so well even without any real competition. SO much so that they are actually supporting the civilian space tech startups with their collaboration programs.

Until and unless the government removes the glass wall between private & government sector & throws open the floor to the now-interested private parties, things will take a long time to change.
