“It was only a matter of time before they would try and convert it into a Hindu-Muslim violent riot and encourage the most primal kind of hatred that wins them support. And after their defeat in the Delhi election, it seems this was an outlet for all the hatred they built up.”

People like Kapil Mishra who shouted slogans like "Desh ke ghaddaaron ko, goli maaro saalon ko" and "Jo na bole Jai Shri Ram, bhej do unko qabristan" were the ones who encouraged these outsiders.

They were raging with madness I’ve never seen before,” Azaad said.

“If the police had been even mildly helpful, we would have left the house from the front door. Why would we need to run and jump terraces with a four-year-old? The police and the mob were the same. Why was the police shielding the Hindus?” he asked.
