These diets are designed to increase the concentration and improve the learning skills.
Non veg is not served in mid day meal program. But Eggs are allowed in this program, but Akshayapatra only serve veg meals.
You are religiously motivated in this regard. Why religion needs to be come into picture here?
any scientific evidence to backup your claim that brahmins' satvik food (devoid of meat, egg, garlic, onion etc) improves concentration and learning skills ?
The reason why religion cropped up because :
- this program is managed by APF, a subsidiary of ISKCON an international Hindu cult famous for its scandals
- Food served by APF is brahmanical i.e satvik (in other words cultural imposition)

here is the link the head is a Jain. Hindus do eat Garlic but Jains do not.
Gone are the days when church sponsored idiots used to disrupt development and Programs that are aiding people to remove poverty and bring empowerment.
Church sees the opportunity to convert as long as the masses are kept poor and bigoted.
India do not need any one to lecture us in this regard. We do not need foreign funding and church should wrap up its malicious campaigns in India. Simply saying .... they should get out !!!
Akshaya Patra program was started by the gentleman below.
From your link he is the chairman and initiator of APF, take a look at his forehead religious mark. Please explain how is he a jain ?
Madhu Pandit Dasa
Chairman, The Akshaya Patra Foundation
Madhu Pandit Dasa was born in Nagercoil, India. Armed with a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT-Mumbai, he dedicated himself to the service of humanity while doing his M.Tech from IIT-Mumbai in 1981. In 1994, he initiated an integrated social development project for the benefit of rural people in Karnataka's Mysuru and Mandya districts. He set up a prototype organic farm based on environment-friendly farming methods, and an internationally-accredited farmer-training centre, on 110-acre land by the banks of the river Kaveri in Srirangapatam. Inspired by his spiritual guru, Srila Prabhupada’s message, he initiated the Akshaya Patra school lunch programme along with Sh. Mohan Das Pai, to provide mid-day meals to children studying in five government schools in Bengaluru. He was instrumental in designing the first centralised and mechanised kitchen of Akshaya Patra, to provide mid-day meals to underprivileged children in Government schools of Bengaluru Rural District, in July 2000. Currently, he is involved in devising strategies for innovative new models, governance, visionary guidance and in envisioning the path forward for the programme implementation.
