What's new

Hindu right seemed to be becoming like terror outfit IS to cut off people’s heads : Nayantara Sahgal

Crackdown on NGOs also cease the source of income for many of them and their propaganda.

It's an indicator of everything right whenever they bark.
They've been thrown out of government owned properties (meant ot be reserved purely for government use), refused free air travel on Air India One and all inclusive expense free hotel accomadation whenever the PM travels abroad and no "privlaged accsess" so they really are desperate.

What baffles me is how much rot the Congress introduced/fed/harboured/encouraged within the system/establishment across the board. There is not a single area that remained untouched. The BJP aren't the antidote to these scum (in many cases they are just as bad) BUT I do believe that Modi IS.

Modi's upbringing/history has created a unique induviual who not only has the right values (to a large degree) and skills but the power/ability/opportunity to actually implement change for the good of his country*. I doubt India will get another opportunity like this. It may take 10 years to fix 5-6 decades of dereliction of duty, criminal intent and general filthiness of spirit from the ruling elite. Those treasonous elements will remain no matter what even after 10 years but what is critical is that they will have been rooted from the system, their tenticales cut and a new generation of administrators completely outside of their control in critical postions.

Of course, we all know the saying that power corrupts and I'm not proclaiming the BJP as angels or Modi as a saint but I do have more faith in their intent than a party who has happily been led by a foriegn family for decades now and who seem to have literally deified them and actively abetted their looting and pilaging (to unfathamable levels) of India.

They always know from the bottom of their heart election-2014 changed something for ever in cultural-political seen in India.

Yes their first run was stopped by turning down privileges to Media Scums. Then foreign fundings of Cultural rapist NOGs were culled down. They were alarmed though they were seeing their end but Govt policies will bring them down much much earlier then what they thought.

They started to retaliate because they have no choice. This started with so called attacks on minorities "attacks on churches" (Rebario types supporting it) truth of these attacks are now known to all. Then Dadri Akhlak Case UP Govt itself could not find anything in it. The the murder of so called Ideologues like Pansares' forced upon right wing and all the hue and cry made by media and awad wapsi gang after that.

But it all proved negative and back fired.

And further nails in the coffin hammered by Ishrat Jhan Case, Malegaon Blast Case, Samjhota Express Case and now skeletons comming out of Augusta Westland Case.

How dirty and malign these people are people literally started hating them from the bottom of their heart.

Still shamelessly they are defending their stance and trying to diectate people thinking they are fools and will digest what ever crap they serve to them.

Utter disgusting.

Before cutting down the NGOs(metaphorically ofcourse) Modi should first clean his own house, Sangh Pariwar and it's even more fringe groups are as rotten as they come and thrive on communal disharmony, corruption and general hooliganism,

Now this might ruffle some feathers but the truth is that right now the balance of corruption is shifting from left to the right. The beneficiaries of govt largesse during UPA were cultural elite and sycophants of Nehru Gandhi Family and now they are assorted Babas like Ramdev and his brethern. Only difference is that Modi is a lot smarter at media management and has corporate backing which translates into positive hindi media coverage. English media houses like Times Group whose owner Jain -Sahu nexus are as fithy corrupt as they come are singing songs of high praise for Modi - gives you an idea about the more things change, more they remain the same.

So Cheers!

Hmmm, I'd say it was too premature to declare that. No doubt the 2014 GE's result has the potential to do so but if Modi repeats ABV's performance in 2019 then all of the "good work" will be undone very very quickly and the status quo resumed. It will take a long time to break these links/nexus and then there will have to be a long "quarantine" period just to make sure the gravy train has truly dried up.

I would laugh but such people are actually more dangerous than we know.. she should be charged on incitement and made a example
And make another martyr for these scumbags to rally around?

Agreed the best alternative is ignore them, she is just a media attention seeking whore like many we have.

This sounds about right and I hold no illusions that the BJP is any better than the Congress party (on the whole). That said, I still think Modi is a peculiarity and doesn't really have close ties to anyone in particular. Yes, he has used certain groups/interests to help him get to where he is (that is politics) but I don't really see that affecting his personal agenda and that is what I find most compelling about him; he has a vision for India and (hopefully) is implementing it.

Also, like MMS, I don't see Modi as someone who has ever personally benefited from his position (materially that is), has no close family (that he interacts with on a regular basis) that he is looking to enrich (as with MMS) and genuinly seems to relish his position. Yes, he's a politcan so of course he craves power but it's not as though he has simply rested on his laurels once he acheived his ulimate goal (PM), he is still working harder than most of us ever will and a lot of this goes entirely unnoticed.

At least the penetration by foriegn interests has been curtailed, "Make in India" right? :D

Performance of Congress from 2004-2014 has already closed that gate.

All I can give you an example - Digvijay Singh was Madhya Predesh CM before BJP come to power. He had two terms and ruled for 10 years. But how he ruled is still fresh in the memories of people of that state.

BJP was not sure of election victory but Uma Bharti come power and was replaced by Shivraj Singh Chouhan as CM. But that is another story.

Till date people of state hates Congress, BJP no doubt given good governance but carries scars of VYAPAM scam. But people are still satisfied because they know what Congress rule can be, they simply cannot trust Congress.

We generally think that masses donot have memory it is not true.

Same is the case with AIDMK in TN.

The intercourse would be go on, but yeah instead of proxies in form of NGOs furthering US interest in India we are seeing the masters themselves coming to India and negotiating directly with us. So in a way it is good that the middlemen are out. Saves lot of money on both sides.

As for Modi, sure he might be honest and dedicated but it all depends on how much control he can exercise on his ministers and so far he is doing a good job in centre but economy and defence are not the only things to be concerned about. Social Harmony is also a major factor in a country as diverse such as India, India will implode if the Muslim population one day decides they no longer feel welcome in India - this is something which Modi has to work towards.

There are basically two factions within BJP, The one faction is the one which is performing in all departments in states and the Center, the other is the old Guard which likes to keep the status Quo as it was earlier. Its not Modi alone Gadkari , Suresh Prabhu , CBN , Chivraj Singh Chauhan , Piyush Goyal are some of the people who are genuine in their work. You have to remember Vast majority of those supporting BJP here are the ones who are supporting the performers.

The Rot has been in the system for 60 years, We need at least 10-15 years of this govt. to flush it away. Thats where Subramaniam Swamy comes in. As for 2019, i think the gates are closed for the Congress party and i am quiet confident of a Victory for Modi...

The Below Sums up everything. :secret:

Nayantara Sahgal (born 10 May 1927) is an Indian writer in English. Her fiction deals with India's elite responding to the crises engendered by political change; she was one of the first female Indian writers in English to receive wide recognition. She is a member of the Nehru–Gandhi family, the second of the three daughters born to Jawaharlal Nehru's sister, Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit.

It's Congress Party which is equivalent of DAESH. :tsk:

Dehradun: Hindutva is a brand of fundamentalism and the Hindu right wing is distorting what Hinduism stands for, says renowned author Nayantara Sahgal who was among one of the first writers to return her Sahitya Akademi award to protest against intolerance in the country.

She also claimed the situation in the country is worse than the Emergency era, but said figures like Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union president Kanhaiya Kumar offer hope.

Speaking to IANS on the sidelines of the first edition of the Dehradun Literature Festival here, Sahgal, niece of India’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, lamented that the Hindu right seemed to be becoming like terror outfit IS and said it was “time for a debate on the tendency of Hindutva to become like IS, to cut off people’s heads”.

“We need a debate on why Hindutva is becoming like the IS. The Hindu right wing is talking in the same criminal language as IS. As a Hindu, I resent what Hindutva is doing to Hinduism. They are distorting and destroying it,” she said.

Terming as “bogus” the debate on nationalism, she accused the Bharatiya Janata Party-led central government of trying to instill fear on people’s mind with “silly” issues like chanting of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

“The debate on nationalism is irrelevant now. Nationalism was needed at a time when the country was fighting to become a nation under British Raj. Then the Hindu right and Muslim right supported British to lay the path to Partition,” she said.

Accusing Hindu rightwing groups of fostering trouble in the NIT Kashmir campus, Sahgal said that the effort began at the time of Syama Prasad Mookerjee, founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS).

“There has been an attempt by Hindu right wing to create trouble between Jammu and Kashmir to bring in the Hindu element from the time of Syama Prasad Mookerjee and it’s still going on,” she said, charging the BJP with wanting to destroy secularism in Kashmir.

“Kashmir was the only secular place in India where there was no riots even during the Partition. It used to be the centre of a great religious culture,” she said.

The author also took exception to the BJP’s effort to appropriate historic figures like B.R. Ambedkar and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, saying that the party discovered the great leaders after so many years. “It’s better late than never,”she added.

Sahgal, known for her outspoken views, also held that the present situation in the country is much worse than Emergency.

“It’s an undeclared emergency now. Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi goes abroad and says great things. But here, they are crushing dissent and force us into obedience,” she said.

However, Sahgal felt that young people like Kanhaiya Kumar are a beacon of hope for the country. “The Dalit issue has come to the fore now because of the students movement which started in the Hyderabad university. Kanhaiya Kumar aptly said that the issue of caste, communalism, poverty and other issues is to be fought,” she said.

Lauding Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s call for a grand alliance to fight the BJP, she said that all like-minded parties should come together to save the idea of India.

“I think the time has come for a great coalition like Nitish Kumar said. There has to be a combination of all parties who don’t support the ‘Hindu rashtra’ business. It’s slowly happening,” she said adding that Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has undergone a change and gives hope for his party.

“Rahul seems to have changed and spoke well in parliament recently. I think Rahul has stepped forward and it is a good move,” she said.

The gist of the matter is:

1. BJP and Hindu RW are like IS, > and Modi must be like Khalifa Baghdadi

2. Nationalism is irrelevant

3. Kashmir was the only secular place in India, and BJP destroying the secularism there

4. Hindu rightwing groups are fostering trouble in the NIT Kashmir campus > Hindu rightwing groups are like ISIS = NIT students waving national flag are like ISIS terrorists

5. India is under undeclared emergency now, which is even worse than the actual emergency period under Indira Gandhi

6. Kanhaiya Kumar is a beacon of hope for the country

7. Nitish Kumar is a larger beacon of hope for the country

8. Rahul Gandhi is the largest beacon of hope for the country

9. She will turn 89 on May 10 as per Wiki

Arre O Journalist bhai, Kyoun jate ho interview lene, woh bhi 89 year old lady se? Kya milta hai aise interview chap ke? I cannot even cut the head of a dead fish!!

Maybe they should, instead of tolerating this daily nonsense of so called Intellectuals who keep continuously bashing Hindus and Hinduism.

Keep doing the good work for the Hindu right, by bashing Hinduism and in turn make Secular hindus join Right wing ranks.
These Intellectuals are a blessing in disguise for Hindu right.. ;)

first provoke by using controversial statements like these and then cry rising intolerance if some one gives a befitting reply.

Award Wapsi 2 is on the way Bhailog :D
It think this is the trailer of UP elections to come next year. Award Wapsi 2 and Intolerance part 2 are coming soon. :D

1)Yeah right its always the Communists that offer hope to this Nehru family,Everywhere they are getting wiped out electorally.

2) What is the Distortion and destruction of Hinduism?
First of all its called Sanatana Dharma not Hinduism.Santana Dharma has been under attack for more than 1200 years from invaders and now the Secularists who claim to be secular but choose only Hindus to attack and denigrate. It is a good thing Hindutva is bringing all Hindus together as one entity.Which is causing abdominal cramps to these people as they see Hindu vote bank becoming a reality.

3) Jammu was always Hindu, While the valley had majority Muslims, where is the plot of trying to create tension in between both,it has been like that all the time.

4) Kashmir was the only secular place in India? This has to be the biggest joke of all time.Yeah right, the very secular Muslims drove away and killed Kashmiri Hindus and pandits with its so called Secularism.

5)Her desperation of Nitish kumar and its grand alliance is clear, she wants BJP vs Everyone as their electoral gains as Congress party have eroded thanks to Modi and the formation of Hindu Vote bank.
Whether she likes it or not, Hindu Rasthra will become a reality,no one can stop it,The wheels are already set in motion, long time ago from partition time.

6)No matter how much she bats for her Nephew, The Imbecile Rahul Gandhi he won't become a PM, we seen his change fizzle out after he took the sabbatical of 2 months and came back.No change at all.
Some people are born that way.:woot:
