I say ban any religious cartoon for kids simple and straight.


BTW when India is going to have some cartoons on Jesus promoting Christianity?

That is a recipe for disaster since the controversy over these cartoons also illustrates that people have disagreements over whether the cartoons are religious or not. Then people will start complaining over all sorts of TV shows claiming they are 'religious' in nature and their kids watch them.

Instead of arbitrary bans, and limiting choices for people, people can use that 'magical device descended from the heavens' called the 'TV/Cable remote' to, prepare for this, it might shock you, CHANGE THE FREAKIN CHANNEL!

There are no more than One cartoon networks so no choice of changing it when kids are sitting to watch.

Parents can do strictness with regard to watching shows for grown ups but you dont have much excuses when kids are watching cartoon network.

Ignorance is indeed a blessing in disguise sometime for some people.

If you find time then Do first check that Quran already talked about reproduction and other issue relating to human body.

Even 'evil' madrassas are teaching anatomy

And for your information when we study biology at schools we are not 4 years old kids.

That is a completely incorrect analogy, for several reasons:

1. The Hindu cartoons, even if promoting their religion, are not advocating terrorism, open discrimination of those of another faith, intolerance and hate for those from other beliefs, as various Jihadi groups would likely do.

2. What would be a better comparison is TV shows by Islamic scholars promoting Islam, and there are in fact dozens of them on Pakistani TV channels .And some of them, like that by Amir Liaquat, even went to the extent of doing exactly what you implied Jehadi groups would do - promote extremism and terrorism by calling Ahmadi's 'wajib-e-qatl' and all sorts of derogatory things.

Turn it off then and tell them to go play with their toys or in the park, or put a DVD in.

Why not? As the parent they have the right and responsibility to monitor all programming their children watch, and if a 'Hanuman show' is on cartoon network and there are no other options, shut off the TV.

cartoonifying lolzz its not about cartoonifying. hinduism has been taught through these ways since long its another thing now technology has replaced stones and deities.

and i am sure the saffron people will call any attempt to teach Christianity this way as conspiracy by missionaries

Give me a break!! So from now on kids are not allowed to watch movies like '300'?? Or Troy where there are references of idols and 'other' gods? Or is it that you are particularly afraid that your kids will get attracted to Hinduism?!!

All this rant about cartoons is BS. In fact these kind of cartoons help people understand other faiths and let them live with tolerance. I myself learnt about the exodus from watching 'Moses'. And what kind of and adult will confuse mythology with preaching. As far as I know about hanuman, he himself prays in the cartoon rather than people worshipping him. So before watching the movie don't conclude that it preaches why hanuman should be worshipped.

Anyhow Pakistan has to decide for itself if it has serious problems with content like this. In a wierd way, India's information war is indeed working. It shifts the focus of people from the real issues. :O

Questioning Hinduism or making fun of it won't effect me a bit, but what you're indulging in is pure hypocrisy. If you can't provide good entertainment to your kids atleast don't come up with theories that Indians trying to spoil your kids with their evil agendas.
