UK may not extradite Musharraf
Not that I personally believe that Musharraf deserves any jail time, but just to highlight how the PPP takes us for a ride all the time...
Interpol, Red Notices are all big topi dramay. You think our government didn't know there was no way he would be handed over?

The United Kingdom does not normally hand over wanted persons to countries where the death penalty is enforced. If a foreign country makes an appeal to or approaches the British government through competent international organizations, the request is supposed to be processed by the British judicial system before a decision is taken.
Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar was also in London last week, and she had a meeting with senior officials there. She did not take up the question of the handing over of Pervez Musharraf to her country in the course of her interaction with the British authorities. A senior British diplomatic source told The News on condition of anonymity that it is not only the former president of Pakistan but also a number of people belonging to various countries that are living in the United Kingdom, and they are wanted by their government on different counts. As long they are obeying the law in their host country, they are not deported. The sources maintained that Pakistan hasnt approached the British government for handing over General Musharraf.
The former general has not sought asylum from the British government, but he is staying as an honourable guest who is respecting the British laws faithfully. We have no problem with his staying in the United Kingdom, the source maintained.
