What's new

Hillary called India ‘self-appointed frontrunner for UNSC’, ordered snooping

I think you are wrong
I was listening to the radio and some racist Republicans and tea party members were going all emotional about lossing jobs to Indians
they were bitterly against UN seat

according to them.. giving UNSC seat to India will mean the death of American jobs and Indian monopoly over American job market

crazy it may sound but then again these people are ****** rich and always use emotional rants to force their opinions.

I had to stop listening when one guy said that India will veto any move to close the Indian call centres
I know it was very funny but then again Americans did have President Bush?????????

I think India should demand an appology from Hillary Clinton
no one likes her but this time she went very low

very disappointing and shocking.
lol................. firstly, she didnot point out india only.. these includes japan, germany and brazil also...care to read the whole news....

US should support India’s pursuit for UNSC permanent seat, says McCain

Resolution introduced in US Congress backs India's UNSC bid

What Indian veto power had to do with american jobs and Indian call centers, and how does it means death of american market

American job loose is not a matter to discussed inside security council, not even a matter to bring a resolution.

Banning Indian call centers, from were did u hear all this, dont overlap business with politics, both r septate ways,U.N or american constitution cannot decide about Indian call centers,we had not granted them that power

Any way more than India,it is china about which u.s is more concerned about job lose

yes u might be right their
but TP is an extremly left party (unorganized inst.) nd republicans need them (read TP) to win the next election.
so republicans need to satisfy the TP nd the local public.
well what matters is their official stance and they have always been supporting india in major issues.
then again please do note-the article is 1.5 yrs old nd US policy has changed very much since then.

Well I think there is much more than meets the eye here. As one who does not belong to the diplomatic circles and international relations circuit, it is indeed a bit difficult to understand fully the ramifications of the Wikileaks cables.

a) I am particularly interested to find out what is the Locus Standi of the State Department on the cables emanating out of US New Delhi mission.

Of course we know that in International relations nothing is permanent apart from permanent interests, one needs to look into these specific leaks (saw somewhere it is to the tune of 3000 odd documents). American foreign policy vis-a-vis India has been evolutionary and quite dynamic too. I am sure the stated positions may have changed since the days of these cables and the day when Pres Obama made that speech in Indian parliament.

b) Saw the press conference of Secretary Clinton. She condemns any attempt to change/alter "stated foreign policy objectives", "excellent bilaterla relations" and is deeply disturbed by these leaks. In the coming days we need to see how the "nomencalture of the world leaders" pan out. I mean Belrusconi, Ahmedinijad, Putin, Medvedev and Sarkozy. Is this going to have any bearing on future bilateral relationship between the US and these countries whose leaders the cables have named?

c) It seems there are a lot of aspects involved in the current leaks and there is no "Single" point leakage and that it addresses several issues in several countries.

d) How is India going to be affected by this? What about India's relationship with Erdogan and Bin Zayed of UAE. How will India take the fact that these countries have conspired to keep India out of the Turkey-sponsored debate on Afghanistan, particulaqrly when its just been a few days since the Prez tour to Syria and the UAE?

e) Has all these revalations also got something to do with the huge scams tumbling out of the closet in India? Particularly the timing of the media exposes on the scams and the now the wikileaks expose? Is there any movement behind this? Theres a particular article by Mr. B Raman (ex R&AW)

f) How about the fact that UAE supports the delivery of the F16s to Pakistan at the same time being overtly confident that this isnt going to substantially change the balance of power between India and Pakistan?

g) I can see something fishy between the media exposes on corruption (today we had Mr RN Tata moving the Supreme Court invoking Article 21, the Nira Radia tapes, the appointment of tainted CVC) ect.

h) And finally the US move to "steal" the research reactor supplied by it on account of "possible" RDD falling into the hands of the extremists...

Friends I think we are in for exciting times and need to keep a close watch on the media

To see what kind of diplomatic maneuvering India is doing behind the doors for the UNSC seat. I doubt she found much though, India didn't really bring the issue into the spotlight until they got the ok from the US.

seems that Mr. Ombaba came to tell the indians what they wanted to hear; something their own leaders can't assert or lobby for

Pakistani leaders are over-confident, arrogant; and inept at certain tasks; seems the indians are quite self-hating and still suffer massive inferiority complex

this whole wikileaks thing is reading like an explosive novel --whether the revelations are proven or unproven

this is exactly my point.
trying to cover up and find excuses for USA is in no way service to India.
Obama is a clever chap. he and Hillary are playing the good cop bad cop

@Paladin, I had so far thought you to be a mature sensible poster, but lately your posts are stooping to low levels.
I found the picture offensive and insulting. I give respect to every lady, and expect every one also to show respect.

Sorry i don't give a flying fart what anyone makes of me or my posts. Many Thanks.

Well the remark was addressed to all of the G4 not just India but I guess the toilet Indian media could not make that a sensational headline.

As for the Indian members dissing Clinton.. please know that she is probably the most pro-Indian cabinet member in the administration. Her (and her husband's) support base among the NRI is legendary.

exactly my pont dear sir

tea party is a double edged sword an un controlled explosive wagon that needs to be contained and also stay clear of

these peopel dont even hesitate from denouncing Jews.. and are openly racist towards black and mixed races specially Mexicans
what Chance does India have?

they are tapping into the American frustration and enjoy 60%+ support.. thier emergance can make President Bush like Nelson Mandela

it is really sad that I was unable to convey what I have heard and seen. silly and stupid it may sound but what these people have done to Mexicans while the US expansion is no laughing matter.

Hillary is a very clever woman, she seems to be distancing from Obama and I think her instrctions to US diplomats to gather DNA samples of foreign leaders seems like she is brewing up some plan for the future.

i doubt if she is doing it alone she has the support of other important figures too

and finally people think that this issue, politics and econimics are not related but in reality the boundies are not well defined
Industrial and political espionage is a tool that western govements use to their advantage

there is always a hidden messge between the lines
what Mrs Clinton is saying to her staff is to watch out for India and gather as much information in order to use it against India if the time comes

Exactly my points. Its Indian media which just manipulate words to sensitize the news (Too tough competition for them, so to get some extra TRP)

I agree with your 100% with your point. India and US relation was almost got cold after cold war and nuke test but it was her husband who start building fresh relationship with India. Today whatever the Bush or Obama did with their visit with India, for all these first seeds are sown by Clinton. Yes, she and her husband support base among the NRI is legendary.

it is nothing to be indifferent about.. its about national honour and dignity

if you dont challenge them now, tomorrow they will make fun of Indian founders and other respected personalities

what these people in the west dont understand is that we Asians have very different and higher values when it comes to honor and respect

just because they can make fun of their religion , pope and even Jesus doesnt mean it gives them the right to talk in such a derogatory language
